The problem being MMOs are more resource intensive, though i suppose Capcom already has a server infrastructure for Monster Hunter Tri in place in North America

I guess it could work, wouldn't be a bad idea to test to see if the Western markets want their Monster Hunters to be yet more online-centric even than Tri was.

Gamespy network is not XBL, MS will make people pay to play it just like PSU. Different business models, I doubt people will be willing to pay monthly for a game like this on top of XBL.

you dont need Gold to play mmos, just the subscription to the game.

since mmos  have subscriptions microsoft doesnt require gold accounts.  if they want to play other games online and still play the mmo it will require a subscription to both.

Frontier is not a MMO, even if that's the way it'd be, Capcom would have to pay MS some amount for the "service" XBL provides, which is why MMO doesn't work with XBL, aka FF14 or DCUO, or even something free lik Free Realms. Not to mention I find it hard to believe that people who play those kind of games don't pay for Gold to play other things online.

its is an mmorpg...interesting that that description contains MMO.  the game requires a subscription and microsoft was even GIVING AWAY FREE GOLD MEMBERSHIPS to people who paid the subscription for this game.

you have no idea why ff14 isnt on the 360 and DCUO and Free realms are both sonys so that is why they arent on the 360.   you continue to spout this garbage time and again...this is not the first time i have had to correct you on these bs claims about requiring gold and the subscription for MMOs.  you need to take a hike.

So you are saying they will give out free gold membership if the game happens to come to the states? It was definitely good promotion for MS in Japan due it's low user base. =) Also funny you call a game that has a party of 4 without an open world full of people to be MMO just because Capcom says so. They can call it however they want, Frontier is not a MMORPG that anybody would pay 15 dollars a month in the west for considering that it's the same price as WoW per month, At least SEGA is honest about PSU. The description means shit when it's not the truth.

FF14 isn't on the 360 because XBL is bullshit, I don't think they care about the API part so much as to how whatever they want to do on the game would have to be approved by MS first when it comes to patching, updating, adding new content which would potentially cost points for MS to reap and lots more crap they wouldn't have to otherwise deal with if it's more open. Which is the problem in general with MMORPGs on the 360 in the past where many projects were canceled.

You need to take a hike when I've never said you required Gold to play MMOs in this thread, I count it as an addition. Who the hell would buy a 360 just to play Frontier in the US? Why would you have a 360 without Gold unless you just play the very few SP games out there? These are all valid reasons as to why you won't see that game out here.

I'll continue to talk shit about XBL all day, because it's bad. I have nothing against MS or the hardware, XBL is simply shit. Deal with it.

EDIT: This post has been moderated for trolling. -d1

It probably would sell horribly here in the states.

I wasnt trying to start trouble i just wanted to know if you needed to pay for Gold and a subscription fee, you dont thats cool, chill people, but yeah seeing as how poorly this sold in Japan I doubt it would do better in USA, even the Wii version didnt even manage to do half mil, so it probably wont be worth it. Never was a fan myself
