since mmos  have subscriptions microsoft doesnt require gold accounts.  if they want to play other games online and still play the mmo it will require a subscription to both. 

Frontier is not a MMO, even if that's the way it'd be, Capcom would have to pay MS some amount for the "service" XBL provides, which is why MMO doesn't work with XBL, aka FF14 or DCUO, or even something free lik Free Realms. Not to mention I find it hard to believe that people who play those kind of games don't pay for Gold to play other things online.
