Forums - Sony - NGP Might See a Delay In Japan, Aiming for at least One Region by Years End

Well like I pointed out, it caters to every possible play style and consumer.

Playstation Suite and Android. New content always available.

North American gamers will eat up a true Uncharted, Killzone and Resistance.

Japan will get Monster Hunter, Phantasy Star, Final Fantasy and Yakuza games. I also see Sony making a strong push to bring Dragon Quest to the system.

Europe will eat up a similar list as the North American list.

Think about it:

Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter, LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo, Resistance, Killzone, Motorstorm and Socom heading to this platform, plus Android content. This will help sales.

I believe the Japan numbers are spot on. I'm not going to base my North American and Europe off of how the PSP did or is doing. Mainly because Sony has so much experience now and they are really looking at making the NGP as open software wise as possible.

But are those games confirmed for launch? if they are then yea maybe

there is no way all of those will be at launch.  don't let your self get fooled like the 3DS fans did.  launch software always sucks, you should count yourself lucky if all of those games are out within the first year.

launch line up will be...

little deviants, bullshit games 2-6.

I'm not saying all of those games will launch with the system, but they are coming.

Sony had Resistance: Fall of Man launch alongside the PS3 and it went on to sell over 3.5 million copies. I see Sony prepping at least one megaton game to launch with and it won't be a new ip.

Uncharted isn't close to ready since it's still a tech demo (unless they had the game ready and just wanted to show off the tech demo).

And I didn't even mention the franchise it could be. GoW.

i think all will depend on which region have better software that is ready for launch will get it first, meaning either US or japan... xD

I'm still expecting it to have launched in all regions by this time next year

I would also like to point out that I wasn't targetting actual sales. I needed to specify that.

With everything it does, Sony should launch in the US first. I caters to every type of gamer possible, plus the HD display.

Europe should be next, but I would try to get the two launches as close together as possible. Here's my personal (opinioned) breakdown of launch for the NGP.

December 10th, 2011 - US launch - 750,000 units for first two weeks.

February 5th, 2012 - UK launch - 400,000 units first two weeks.

February 20th, 2012 - Europe launch - 700,000 first two weeks.

April 27th, 2012 - Japan launch - 600,000 units first two weeks.

Man im doubting it does that good out the gate

Monster Hunter dominates on the PSP and I see it happening again on NGP. I will not doubt the power of Monster Hunter and a Sony handheld.

And Monster Hunter was PSP handheld-exclusive. IF any MH-3D hits the 3DS (it will happen imho) than everyone has the choice between 3D-monsters on 3DS and HD-monsters on the NGP.

That would definetely split the MH-portable market and i wouldn't be surprised if 3D monsters sell better.

Monster Hunter dominated PSP cause it was easy to port down the PS2 and Wii games, guess what 3DS would carry over fine for the series, they keep it low cost and efficient so what happens when a new Monster Hunter hits home consoles on Wii and they do the portable version?  Most likely it will hit 3DS hell maybe still PSP since it's still strong in Japan, NGP? Maybe but they wouldn't redo the graphics so it's like why not get it on a different console then?

hmm if you played monster hunter you will see that there are some issues that only the ngp is able cover, for example the camera.

on the 3ds the ONLY thing that changes is 3D,monster hunter 3rd all over again... on the NGP on the other hand MH will be WAY more accessible. And of curse we have to see what online possibilitys the NGP brings, I mean if 3g is available in whole japan... guess what is going to make an impact :D
