Interesting, I totally forgot about this game, just checked out some of the trophies..the father balder boss fight looks absolutely ridiculous; can anyone comment on the difficulty of platinum'ing this game?

Father Balder and the Gracious&Glorious fights are the toughest fights in the game IMHO. That's why I was so utterly dissapointed that Jubileus was such an easy final boss fight, heck I platinumed as every stage and attack was pretty obvious and easy to dodge >_<.

Platinum doesn't seem too hard, but I've yet to try nonstop climax mode as that is probably the only true hard trophy to get in the game.

Excellent game. story and characters were a bit OTT for me, but it was acceptable because i dont think they were going for a cinematic approach. (if they were then...no comment)

gameplay wise i dont think i can compare it to God of War. because in Bayo you have to be pedantic with the way you play, every verse (fight) is fun, but its also based on strategy. you cant button bash your way through. so its not the same experience as God of War or Castlevania.

personally i enjoyed God of War 1 and 2 more as because of the story, characters - puzzles and music. you really feel immersed in the realm of Greek mythology and the action is pick up and play. so dont have to think too hard about what your doing - just pick up the controller.

however i would say its better than God of War 3, which i was dissapointed with. but Castlevania LOS, is my favourite action game at the moment - despite the action not even being as good as God of War or Bayo.

Together with Vanquish Platinum Games made 2 of the most fun games this gen!

quick question before other ask this...did you ever played God Of War ?

Played all three and loved all three but neither came close to the feelings of awe and fluidity that I had with Bayonetta. On terms of combat scale it's true that God of War has a better feeling than bayonetta, especially GOW III with it's impossing bosses like Chronos or Poseidon, but that's just it; they're impossing but extremely easy.

There's something different in the bosses of Bayonetta, kinda like they took the scale of GOW bosses and gave them the actual difficulty of bosses from Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden.

To me, in hack and slash games (or action games if people prefer to denominate them this way), combat fluidity is the most important thing, and that Bayonetta has it in spades.

Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360 was some mad fun. I also don't care what others say but I loved DMC4 as well.

DMC4 was amazing too, my favourite after the original DMC. I know a lot of people love DMC3, but I trully hated the lack of fluidity between choosing styles and that was nicely corrected in DMC4.

Having said that, Vergil = Epic.

Oh wait, you're serious? I played up to halfway and couldn't understand what the fuss was about. Button mashing has never been my thing, I can't comprehend why other people would like that type of game either but I guess that is just their preference. The game was just non stop button mashing, the game had no real point and never kept me coming back for more. It far too over the top and just seemed silly. If I ever wanted to touch a button masher I would stick to God of War.

The problem is that Bayonetta isn't a button masher, unless you played it on Very Easy or Easy.

I haven't tried those modes though, but on Normal it was anything but a button masher. If anyone can show me a gracious&glorious fight being won with button mashing I will completely agree with you, but I just don't see that being possible.

Heck, GOW games, even the first one were much more of button mashers than Bayonetta ever was. And I've beaten every GOW game and the Challenge of the Gods/Titans/Olympus in them.

Not true. Bayonetta is all about "witch time", get the hang of the timing and mash away. Climax mode may not have witch time but it makes up for it in other ways. I think Bayonetta is a very good game, but the whole combat system relies solely on timing you witch time and that's the end of it. On the other hand, there aren't many enemies at the same time on screen, not much variety either and they are all very stupid AI.

"Fluidity"?

But you've played the PS3 version...

Bayonetta > God of War 3

Played and beat both.

thats opinions...everybody got one...

FF IX >>> FF VIII

played and beat both.

^^

What do those games have to do with this?

It's really starting to become laughable that every time I disagree with someones game preference they always have to involve FF8.

yeah cause people see your avatar and think that is your weak point...or something like that ^^
