I know I'm extremely late to the party, but I've only acquired a copy of Bayonetta recently on a massive promotion that my GAME store was having.
After finally finishing it today, I've got to say that Bayonetta really blows every other Hack&Slash game out of the park. Everything in the game is fluid and the combat is one of the most intuitive, yet challenging combat systems I've faced.
Nothing beats going into a combo, dodge cancelling into witch time, pulling out a wicked weave and charge up your Shuraba to propagate complete destruction all around you.
The story is a bit convoluted but manageable, although there are some plot holes here and there. I also enjoyed the overall game extension, given that I played it on Normal and with finding all Alfheim portals, all diary entries (and missing some witch chests), my total play time was of 15 hours, which is pretty good for these type of games.
But the best is saved for later, and Bayonetta does just that. The boss battles are the most brilliant, amazing and utterly awe-inspiring boss batles I've ever had in any kind of action related game.Even though I was a bit dissapointed that the last boss was much more easier than the chapter 15 boss, the post climax sequence was total brilliance.
All in all it was an amazing experience and I can't wait to replay it on hard and nonstop climax mode.
