I know, right.  And all of the "gimmicks" they've introduced over the years, like the D-pad, analogue stick, touch screen...

I pretty much just have everything sitting next to the TV with other monitors as well and a playseat with a G27 lol (Do a good amount of 3D gaming.) I also live stream in HD a lot so a nice computer is a basic requirement on top of doing multimedia or processor intensive tasks. A powerful PC goes a long way if you do things other than gameing, but enough with that.

They can prolly make 3DS games look better at the cost of battery life, so I'd rather they just do good shader work and properly utilize the screen size. As far as power consumption with graphics go, the gap inbetween the NGP and 3DS is much closer than the gap from PSP to 3DS when you also count in the 3D display, now, if we are talking about a 2D machine, that would have been a different story, and I'm pretty sure that I'm not far off after having toyed with the 3DS now. Sony has failed to deliver their bullshit promises for like 2-3 times with their hardwares now so I'm not expecting anything different with the NGP, unless they can surprise me =D.

Correct me if Im wrong but dont a fair consoles have slow starts due limited software offerings. Its only after a year or two when developers get to grips with the platform, the install base becomes larger leading to the release of more high profile titles (ie Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 in 2007, 2 years after the console launched), and the software library grows that sales look more acceptable. The DS had a pretty slow start itself, look where it is now

I don't think 3DS is a failure by any means.  The software lineup isn't there yet for core and the mass market is generally unaware of it at this point.    That will change as more units gets out and more people see it.   However, either way software while plentiful for launch, isn't compelling yet.

Glasses free 3D is cool, but will not sell 3DS long term.   Nintendo needs some new gaming ideas.  A Pokemon / Nintendogs / Brain Age kind of hit (not those IPs - a new one unique to 3DS as Wii Sports was to Wii).

NGP as far as we know about it so far, is currently doomed to be the PSP2 in all respects IMO.  Sony doesn't seem to have learned anything from PSP/PS3 and are repeating all the same mistakes.   However, PSP/PS3 are hardly sales failures (except compared to Nintendo's systems which NGP inevitable will be).

yep SONY really at an Disadvantage when it comes to software when they have one of the biggest network of studios(maybe the biggest seeing ea closed so many). And they have got support of many many japanese devs who are pumping game after game for the PSP in japan will likley repeat the same for PSP2 which the DD platform allowing for increased profit. 

And you have western developers who have all pitched support to the PSP2, with Activison announcing an Call of duty game, the biggest game at the moment with like 100 million sales. 

Disadvantage my ass when it comes to software support. 

Where does logic come into this?

Well, he does have one point: The launch lineup is bad. Nintendo wanted to leave the launch hype to third parties this time, however they should have reacted when it became obvious that 3rd parties weren't going to deliver. Surely they have some 1st party blockbusters just waiting to be released. 

My experience at 2 German game stops last week was kind of strange: They had no 3DS set up, I had to ask for it. In the first store they gave me their demo unit; Nintendogs only, and he couldn't be bothered to give me the AR cards. In the second store they said their unit's battery was empty, I should return the other day. Not exactly a hype, overall. 

To those talking about bad launch line-up, I don't think their has been a single system that launched with a great line-up.  Maybe one or two good games, but the rest were just mediocre.  Still, Nintendo seems to be outdoing itself compared to its other handhelds, so I doubt they are too worried.  I'm sure that some investors won't like that they probably won't meet their 4 mil by the end of March projection, though.  The only thing they have to worry about is if Sony comes out with guns ablazing this holiday season and if the NGP becomes the new "hot" thing to buy this holiday.  I think Japan will eat up the NGP, especially with the new touchscreen & panel, and looking at how popular the PSP is there.  And if the NGP gets a release in America and EMEAA by Nov/Dec, that should boost its sales quite a bit in those regions thanks to the holiday shopping push.

I don't think if monster hunter will be in ngp and 3ds the game will sold better the sale will just split between the 2 console for exemple gta sell 18 millions in ps2 and gta 4 don't sell more then that in ps3 xbox360
