Forums - Gaming - Spider-Man: Edge of Time Announced

Activision today announced Spider-Man: Edge of Time, the newest title in the series from developer Beenox. The plot revolves around the timelines of both The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 as they must work together to prevent the death of Peter Parker.

Activision says there's a new "cause-and-effect" gameplay hook where the actions of one Spider-man can alter and effect the timeline of the other Spider-man. Marvel's Peter David is writing the story.

"We want to create a totally distinct experience in Spider-Man: Edge of Time by working with Peter David on the story and creating this urgent, high-stakes experience where time is working against you and the fate of Spider-Man hangs in the balance," said Dee Brown, Studio Head, Beenox.

Spider-Man: Edge of Time is due out this fall. No platforms were announced at this time.

looks and sounds promising....

Beenox makes the bad Spider-man games, I'm rather upset Activision gave the IP to them : Web of Shadows is the best open world super hero game this gen (beating out prototype and infamous, and was best super hero game period till Batman AA) and that was made by Treyarch...

Beenox just makes rather dull, linear, and uninteresting Spider-man games -_-

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

If all else fails, at least the boxart is sexy.

So Activision will start to release annual Spider-man games now too?

Infamous is a third person shooter super hero game....its quite different. Why was that even needed? Might as well compare them all to GTA just because they are open world.....

Has no idea what he's talking about. Web of Shadows was a travesty, Shattered Dimensions was the best Spider-man game in a very long time.
