Hooray fanboy devs, slowly filling the industry with their hate. =P

Did he say anything wrong? He shares the same views as many of the other smaller devs that develop games for the downloadable platforms. Nintendo fucked up, I think he has the right to judge their mistakes as mistakes, instead of just sweeping them under the carpet and just ignoring them.

Word choice. He chooses to say "Nintendo can fuck off," so we should be free to tell him that he can just go straight to hell, instead of actually arguing the merits or demerits of his problems (which are poorly founded anyway)

His allowed to say 'fuck'. Saying 'fuck' does not make you a fanboy or give you the right to judge a whole industry based around the logical opinion of a single developer.

- Nintendo lacks a decent demo system. Demo expiries are stupid and are unneccessary.

- Nintendo barely advertise or maintain their own store.

- Their store is an open gate to a flood of shovelware. Quality control is pretty much non existent.

- One of the best selling Wii Ware games is World of Goo, which only sold 68,000 copies in it's first month. Compare that to the sales of other titles released on the other platforms and then you'll see how low it actually is. Just as a comparison, Joe Danger was downloaded 90,000 times on it's first day on PSN.

- 40 MB restriction on the games memory size.

- Games are rarely ever patched or updated.

These are all issues that he and many other small developers (based on DICE and GDC talk) have with the platform.

The only thing they like about WiiWare is that they can release their crappy games on the system and hopefully build up a good enough portfolio which will make them good enough to develop titles or release their titles on XBLA or PSN.

You can dislike the way he said it, but what he said still isn't wrong.

Not like this is any concern to me, but I'm wondering if this is kind of similar to Machinarium. Do these developers have a publisher? If not then that would mean that they're focusing on XBLA because it has to have an exclusivity agreement, right?

I didn't meen that you hate Nintendo, simply, that the OP stated it...the fact that you (IMO incorrectly) reckon that Nintendo have 'Hamstrung' the market is irrelevant

I see where you're coming from here (though I still think that WOG on WiiWare is above 1 mil, as is Bit.Trip Series (not runner)), but simply stating that WiiWare is stupid is indeed a stupid proposition. It may not be the best, but knocking it without even trying is just a little unprofessional IMO...

I hate when people give their "opinions" about scientific data. Unless you have proof that WOG sold 2 million no one cares about your opinion.

Also I don't have to try both a 1996 Toyota Corola and a 2011 BMW M5 to know which one is better so that statement is flase. Just the raw data about both machines is enough to tell me which one is better.

imo calling upcoming small devs "garage developers" is pretty much un called for

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Nintendo Wii is desperately in need of platformer games.

If for example Greenburg would have said that, people would not be satisfied to call it just "un called for".

Ever since I joined this forum, I've always wondered what your username meant. I started and finished Samurai Champloo this week and now I know. The world keeps on spinning.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

few reasons why I chose MUGEN...and yes the number 1 reason is samurai champloo..I'm a HUGE fan! and M.U.G.E.N the PC emulator (the one with sprite battles) and MUGEN the sword of Kanda from the anime/manga D Gray Man..but you are right Samurai Champloo was definitely the main reason :D

WiiWare definitely has its problems, I hope Nintendo sort them out next time around. They shouldn't be missing out on stuff because of things like a size cap in this day and age.

That was a bad mistake on Reggie's part, and a particular head-scratcher because Nintendo has courted small developers with teams in the single-digits before

Unless Reggie meant the real amateurs, the ones flooding the app store with all sorts of pointlessness (but then again, pointlessness has proven to be a big seller on WiiWare, see My Aquarium)
