ive read of this ages ago, they will reduce the size of the 2gig or so segment on the dvd`s it can be done. just needs a firmware update. i think it will work.

if its a new disk format im unsure how that will work

The royalties on Bluray would be chump change, most wouldn't go to Sony, and MS holds a patent on a portion of the bluray codec.

This thread has NOTHING to do with next gen hardware, it's about improving existing hardware with firmware upgrades.

Blueray is where hard copies of media is heading, everithing is moving to DL and streaming though.

So as you can see, your post is full of mis-information.
