Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft: 3DS Will Turn Casuals Into Early Adopters

I hate how Ubisoft uses the terms "core" and "casual" like they're actual proper terms that suddenly appeared in the last 5 years, and they're not exactly seperate anymore anyway. If they really are seperate things why do shooters have easy modes, and why do mature games get made for Iphone?

I especially love the fact how players of aim-assisted dual-stick FPSes consider themselves "hardcore", just because the games have a mature setting, and at the same time they reject (for example) the Mario platformers where you need to actually deserve everything as "kiddy" or "casual".

Like I said, I just love those kids who desperately try to be adults.

shadow wars is a really great game and looks to be the best launch title to me. It's encourgaing to see ubisoft offering a range of software for 3DS so early on. gives my hope that the assasin's creed game may actually have effort put into it

I'm three missions in, and so far it looks to be a solid strat.  Leveling system is depressingly simple, but I like the terrain system.  Really glad to have picked it up.

The 3D effect is awesome.  I imagine this is what it feels like were your tabletop Warhammer/D&D/whatever game were to come to life.  It also makes the terrain system very intuitive.

Sounds good on paper. But I'm sure Ubisoft's idea of catering to all audiences is to put out both Tom Clancy's Macho Teenage War Fantasy and Imagine: Baby Fluffy Letter 'Z'z. It hasn't occurred to them that they might do better if they craft a true masterpiece that cuts across age and gender barriers.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

once you get more characters in your party and more bonus objectives it gets a bit better but yeah its stays very simple. You do unlock some damm good equipment tho :D
