I was only scared of the lion man in my room. He scared the shit out of me, but after the pastor prayed over the room he dissapeared. No none of them were my friends, these Orangitan things were just hanging on some peoples back's and I saw colours eminating from the people which I have been told is ora. To be honest I stopped seeing these what I'd consider demon's after I became addicted to porn. I also used to pray in tongues (A weird language that you suddenly start speaking for no apparent reason while you pray). But I lost both abilities when I started watching porn. So I personally think they were spiritual gifts and I lost them. Although a few months ago I had gone a month without watching anything and I spoke in tongues again which felt really weird. But then I watched another bad video and haven't spoken since. |
Well, I can certainly see where your sex-negative attitude comes from. As for your Asperger's Syndrome, I never would've guessed while talking with you, unlike sya talking with Soleron, where it's obvious he has it.
No offence, but maybe you should try seeign another psychiatrist about that "speaking in tongue thing".

But it is one of those things where you have to see it to believe it. But when it happens it changes your perception on things. I would say it's a reason why I'm still a Christian. It really does prove life after death for me. Connect the dots.. and it becomes woven into your core beliefs. Orbs are mtly bullshit, rarely do they seem to be out of the ordinary as they say. "Ghost Hunters" seems plausable. "Ghost adventures" is incredibly fake though... but it's also more exciting, lol. |
In the Chrisitan religion there are no ghosts.

lol not all spiritual experiances are psychological issues you know, if everyone who spoke in tongues was insaine their would probably be nearly half a billion people. If you include all the other spiritual experiances from all religions you'd have to consider one third of the world to be mental basket cases.
But then again my psychiatrist always said that their is no such thing as a normal person. He said if you looked hard enough at every single person you would find some mental flaw.
But speaking in tongues and such are spiritual gifts which some Christian's get, its up to God to give them these gifts or in my case take them away. But seriously if the whole seeing demon's and tongues and other people's visions and such if all those were simply mental problems why did mine go away? Mental problems don't just heal themselves especially not when you start seeing things and talking in weird languages.
Also as for Christian's believing in Ghost's your actually wrong their are several denominations that believe ghosts may exist. Infact some believe that all human's spirits remain on earth till judgement day, meaning their spirits are still around which is basically a ghost.
I personally believe in spirits not so much ghosts. I believe in angel's and demon's, those ghosts people report sound too much like demon's to me. Like I've seen on Ghost Hunters them bring in a priest to get rid of the Ghost and he yells the power of Christ compells you while waving this smoking ball on a chain.
Or a case of demon's not going inside church's I've seen that on many ghost investigation shows. They say that the ghost will not enter a church. Now if it were just a human spirit why wouldn't it enter a church?
But of course all the spirit talk is highly contriversial. I bet that all the Christian's on VGChartz have different views on the super natural such as ghosts , demon's and spiritual gifts.
I attend a Mennonite Church that doesn't believe in my gifts like speaking in tongues. I started speaking in tongues once in church. I went into a tranze and when I came too a guy was standing next to me waving a light in my eye's, he was like are you on any drugs. I was like yah Ridalin and the guy was like "You need to take your ridalin right now" it was funny because he had no idea that ridalin just helps people focus. The pastor came over and I talked to him and he was like "Joel people don't speak in tongues anymore, only Gods deciples could speak in tongues".
Long story short Christianity is very complex you can't stereotype all Christian's into a single denomination. Some believe in ghosts , others in demon's and angel's and some don't even believe in God though I don't consider those denominations Christian.

I think a lot of it is confirmation bias. I mean, there are plenty of times I've thought about something randomly and its happened soon after. But what about all the times you think about something and it doesn't happen? With all of the thousands of times you think about random stuff each day, some of it is bound to happen. |
Well premonitions isn't just thinking something happens, really. I had quite a few dreams in which things afterwards happened. In one of those short dream, I saw a women and she gave me a keychain gift... A little later I met this person. And she gave me that exact same gift (a holographic keychain from her vacation in NY).
So, I didn't know the person, saw her in detail in my dream and she gave me that exact keychain as I seen in my dream. Now someone would say it's coincidence but really... Can the brain randomly piece up genetics to form this exact person and then piece up the exact event and exact object like this? There was nothing in my life at that moment to even remotely put up those things together and I have never seen this person before! There is no explanation for this.
I'm not going to convince anyone, it's only an annecdote and it weighs no proof, sadly because there is no way to verify this... But please don't try to convince me otherwise unless you have a very good explanation. To me, it was just too precise to be something random. All I can say is that unless it happened to you, you simply cannot understand or believe, and that's fine. I'm not here to impress or prove anything to anyone.

As I said, most of it can be explained by confirmation bias, that still applies to dreams (thats if you're actually remembering a dream and it isn't some kind of post hoc rationalisation in response to a delayed memory).
People who have suffered a crime have put people away because of testimony that was based around identifying a photo of the supposed criminal only to find that the DNA evidence contradicts this years later and that by seeing a photo of a person that might slightly resemble who attacked them, they literally insert that image into their memories and ovewrite what they actually saw. We do have brains that can do that. Such a mechanism could definetely work in other instances.
I didn't discount the possibility, as i said "I think a lot of it..." But for every vivid dream or experience how many don't come to pass? Thats the real point. Its very easy to say that insert phenomina is real when it happens once or even a few times, but it has to be weighed against when it doesn't. Thats all I'm saying. If you have 1000 dreams and only 1 comes true, is it really a premonition or is it more likely to be just a random thought that just happened to concur with the future?
I'm not saying it can't happen, I mean we do have big brains that can work out the inner workings of the universe and predict without doing any physics calculations where that ball you just threw is most likely going to land. It might happen in other ways rarely, who knows, but its going to take extraordinary evidence to prove the claim, as it should.

Though one day after a party, being the only person that stayed sober, I helped him clean up, cleaned out a bunch of stuff in his bomb shelter... he asked me to close the door, and the thing slammed shut HARD. Definitly wasn't the wind, becuase well this was a heavy ass door, and there wasn't any wind anyway being underground. Was just in the shelter and cleaned everything up so I know nobody was in there or any shit like that. Don't really have an explination for it other then ghosts, though I don't see why a "ghost" would be trapped on earth. |
Was the bomb shelter built at a slight angle at all? I would have imagined that if the shelter was built on an incline then the door would have a tendency to slam shut if it opened towards the top of the incline, and the heavier it is the harder it would slam, all it may have needed to slam hard was a nudge. That would be my immediate assumption if a heavy door slammed shut.

This reminds me of that movie, The Haunting. The doors would slam shut all the time bacause of the angle the hosue was built.

Well, of course NOT ALL of them are. There are situations like spdk1 mentioned. Some of them are mental cases though.
But then again my psychiatrist always said that their is no such thing as a normal person. He said if you looked hard enough at every single person you would find some mental flaw.
This is quite true. All people are different from eachother. How can one be "normal" in that case. Who exactly is this individual who holds the taits characterised as "normal", and why is he so desirable?
But speaking in tongues and such are spiritual gifts which some Christian's get, its up to God to give them these gifts or in my case take them away. Well, you yourself said that it hasn't totally gone away.
Also as for Christian's believing in Ghost's your actually wrong their are several denominations that believe ghosts may exist. Infact some believe that all human's spirits remain on earth till judgement day, meaning their spirits are still around which is basically a ghost.
Well, I can't keep track pf all the Christians sects.
I personally believe in spirits not so much ghosts. I believe in angel's and demon's, those ghosts people report sound too much like demon's to me. I don't know why an made-up aparation wouldn't go into a Church.

Well that makes no sense. Of course they're not Christians (or even religious for taht matter)/
