I usually do it when I want to ponder about something, usually depending on the mood. System for when I am angry and "Happy" playlist for when I am sad/upset. Gorillaz, Muse etc. Never really did it for the bass, I just listen to the lyrics.

I wear my giant ass, but killer sounding AKG's when I fly, and some dude at the airport stopped me to say "rockin some pretty serious headphones" to me. I just like em cause they're comfy and sound great. In-ears freak me out, cause i'm afraid i'll fall asleep and roll over and they'll fall into my head.

Trust me, you (general you) look like an idiot wearing any sort of earphones or head phones on the street.

I don't think that's the case anymore for inear headphones, nearly all young people do it at some point.

Those big bulky things though, just look stupid. Wouldn't be seen dead in them.
