ign.com (i know, but its not about graphics, and you dont have to be an esxpert to evaluate this) "Enemy AI is good as well – unlike the previous Killzone games, you'll discover a larger variety of Helghast soldiers, all of whom will use different tactics, that are looking to wipe you from the face of their planet. For example, assault troopers (the standard soldiers that people see in billboards or most video clips) will frequently use cover and attempt to take you out from a distance, while shock troopers will throw smoke and frag grenades as distraction tactics, switching to machine guns and eventually pulling out knives for close quarter strikes. There are even heavy infantry, robotic drones and other hazards that you'll need to watch out for. Because many of your battles will mix groups of Helghast together, you'll frequently need to figure out which threat you want to attack and do so quickly before you're flanked or pinned down." gamespot.com "The action is constantly pushing forward, leading you from one quality scripted event to the next and pitting you against bright AI opponents that have a remarkable grasp of battlefield tactics. These soldiers put up a fight and exhibit authentic behavior as you rain bullets on them. If you set your sights on a soldier peeking from behind cover and fire off a few rounds in that direction, he'll patiently wait until all signs of fire have vanished. Helghast will flank you and shoot blindly from behind cover, and should you toss a grenade in their direction, they'll quickly scatter. You'll normally be fighting alongside a computer-controlled teammate or even entire squads of fellow infantry. Enemy AI is just as concerned with your comrades as it is with you, so you'll never feel as if you have a bull's-eye plastered on your forehead, as is common with many other team-based shooters." Killzone 3's enemy AI is fantastic. Your adversaries flee quickly from the grenades you toss, are quite accurate when they throw their own, and sprint to more effective cover spots when your gunfire causes the sheet of metal they were hiding behind to fall away. You are often accompanied by a mostly competent AI teammate." |
Um yeah but neither of those say its some of the best AI in the biz. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You guys have been playing down Crysis 2's graphics because the reviews haven't specifically stated its the ultimate greatest best looking console game ever, but now you are using a weak argument, with IGN even, saying that the AI is good and thats supposed to convince me its up there with the best in gaming? Which one is it?

What code are you talking about? I didn't have to type in any code to play multiplayer for the 360.

we arent talking technical spec, and graphics.
we are talking AI, something completely different. and acknowledged the irony of me using ign as a source, and like i said it doesnt take an expert to comment on AI.
and all my claim was that killzone has some very good AI, some of the best becasue the other guy said it was bad. and i believe those quotes support my claim.
here, ill make you happy, i also think halo has some of the best AI in any game (i really do)

your right, the code was for bonus content for the limited addition.
im thought it was for multiplayer becasue EA games have been doing that.
im really happy now

I don't know but I guess the PS3 can't handle CryEngine 3. Xbox 360 more powerful confirmed.

MGS4 is not about graphics but art style... and VGA put the two things together so the award is for Graphics Art Style. I disagree MGS4 was not the 2008 best graphics. And we are in 2011 with Crysis 2 runing in sub-HD. |
Yeah its running about 718p...I might as well throw my TV in the trash. That is so sub HD.
LOL some of you are trying to make this game the best looking game overall on consoles way way too hard. I find these debates hilarious

In 1152x720 to 1280x720 there are 12% more pixels to process... image quality is better and more sharp on 1280x720...the only advantage of the 1152x720 is for reading text.
Well for me graphics is looks as well as performance. I don't see how it's credible to claim best graphics on console on looks alone and ignore significant shortcomings on performance. The best screenshot from Crysis 2 will (it seems) look better than the best screenshot from U2/KZ3/GoWIII, but that's only half the story. If the graphics heavy weights on PS3 suffered from the same flaws as Crysis 2 then there would be a clear cut case to make in favour of Crysis 2 being graphically superior. But because those PS3 games are very solid on performance the case in favour of Crysis 2 is considerably weakened.
The DF analysis suggest with some further refinement and more experience working with the consoles Cry Engine 3 could produce the best graphics on console to date. But by the time things are further ironed out to achieve rock solid performance with a Cry Engine 3 game, along with real purrdy looks other games will other games have moved past the good looks? Not least of the contenders being Rage. By the sounds of what John Carmack is saying Rage will be a serious contender for best console graphics, achieving excellence in looks as well as performance.
A bit like competition ice skating it seems like Crysis 2 got excellent marks for artistic merit, but was let down a bit on technical performance.
