i got it for ps3. so far id give it an 8.4.

it looks great, but honestly i dont think it really compares to games like uncharted, killzone, and god of war.

there's just too many graphically inconsistancies. pop in, frame rate issue, low res textures (especially plants), and not the strongest of character models. it makes me really scratch my head at sites like ign. i just dont see it. crysis at its best is one of the best, but the problem is, it often isnt at its best

That is because you are scrutinizing every single detail which you didn't do with Killzone 3 and Uncharted 2, but now that there is a contender you want to find faults. Nothing will ever beat a PS3 exclusive in your mind so there is no point in trying. Just the thought of a game that runs on the 360 that looks as good or better than any PS3 exclusive bothers you and plenty others on this site. The fact remains that over 10 sites have called it the best looking console game or as good as anything out there.

To be honest, the Ps3 multiplayer seems a bit off. Hopefully its not my wireless connection, but it seems as if the Kill Cam's end too quickly, and sometimes don't even fully show the kill.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

I trudged through some of it on the PC. I feel like it plays even worse than Crysis 1, so I'd give it about a 5, out of 10. The graphics aren't even as jaw dropping as Crysis 1's were back then, so it doesn't even have that going for it.

(It plays extremely stable on absolute max settings on my PC, and it's a good looking game, just nowehere near as amazing as Crysis was at the time. )

Pity but I thought that would be the case.  I'm going to skip it on PC and just get it on console - probably 360 but maybe PS3 depending on DF analysis and reading a few more reviews.  The more I read about the PC version the more I felt the game wasn't going to seem as good to me on PC vs a console.

I don't have access to a an HD console this year (new roommates), but unless there's some seriously big differences in level design, I don't see the game being any better on the consoles than on the PC. Plus their graphics are of low-resolution and generally a lot worse so the game won't even have that going for it, not that it's groundbreaking on the PC or anything.

My suggestion is to save your money and go play the first half or so of Crysis 1, and you will save yourself a bunch of money and get the best Crysis has to offer.

um no.

also most reviews have mentioned these flaws that i mentioned in crysis. killzone frame rate was rock steady with no screen tear, with tins of stuff going on. its ai was praised. and little to no pop in. i didnt have nearly as much plant life, and the little amount it did, was higher res than crysis. i why would i care if crysis looks better than kz3. i own both, its all the better for me, if it was

Crysis 2 is bloody gorgeous, and by far one of the most polished games we've ever played. Watching the cityscape come crashing down around you in all its HD glory is quite the sight, especially in some of the more open areas midway through the main campaign. Whether you've diving across rooftops or making your way into the heart of an alien hive, it's all jaw-dropping throughout.

Although Crysis 2 swaps an actual jungle for the urban variety, the level of near photorealism remains. Despite the impressive scale the attention to detail is second to none: from hedges that shed leaves as you run through them to the filtering of light through a half-destroyed wall. That all this is running on a middle-aged console, not a state of the art PC, only makes it more impressive.

Yes at least 10-15 say its the best or up with the best. So I think its a pretty compelling argument against you saying that Crysis 2 doesn't even compare to Killzone 3 and Uncharted 2. Call of Duty doesn't compare to those games. Crysis 2 is on a different level than COD. Crysis 2 is on the elite console graphic level. You don't think its the best and thats fine but don't exaggerate and say it doesn't even compare. I think its the best so lets call it a stalemate.

killzone 3 has pretty poor texture resolution everywhere, just like all consoles games.... and that wont change this generation (because of the small memory size), so that argument is not really valid to be defended in both cases.

The thing is that kz3 uses effects to cover those bad textures while crysis 2 doesnt, but again crysis 2 has better water effects and light effects.

Just got done playing some Crysis 2 single player (after watching my cousin play a bunch of MP)

First off the single player graphics are much better then the Multiplayer graphics but that is to be expected.

Graphically its up there with the best looking games on consoles (right around with Killzone 3 and them). Its got its strong points and weak points, the inside of buildings are the best looking i've ever seen, and the explosions and lighting are absolute top notch. But some of the outside wall textures can be pretty bland. Overall there are no noticable frame drops and very few texture pop in's.

Gameplay is fun as hell and the controls very tight (the game is very epic too!)

Multiplayer looks hella fun.

All in all I would give it a solid 9.6/10

That's a problem? No. For me the fact Killzone do that make it a better game than Crysis 2... in graphics of course.

OP: I wouldn't buy Crysis 2 after playing the demo on the PS3... but now I give him change soon due the single player.
