It's cause you are in Canada. :P

Man Nintendo and screwing us Canadians Eh?

In all seriousness however Nintendo Of Canada usually launches all their games on the same days as NOA. With StarFox:Assualt having actually launched in Canada first. I remember picking up my copy a few days before it was availible in the US.

There's a Nintendo of Canada? Do you guys have your own Reggie?

We have a President but he is not active like Reggie. Nintendo of Canada handles all the distribution of Nintendo products in Canada. NOC is very secretive and rarely holds press events, just some launch events like right now with the 3DS.

I asked an NOA guy at PAX about Nintendo Of Canada and he said NOC handles alot of the repairs of consoles. He said NOA handles distribution and repair of Nintendo hardware and software in Canada.

NOC used to have an internal studio , Silicon Knights but since the loss of Silicon Nintendo Of Canada doesn't develop any software. Remember Penant Chase BaseBall? That was an NOC game that got cancelled. Eternal Darkness and MetalGearSolid:TwinSnakes was also developed by NOC and Silicon.

But sadly today, their is little to no game development by NOC. NOC basically does nothing more then put products in stores. Its not like NOA which creates products and ports products. NOC just handles the distribution in Canada.

Why do you think Nintendo is holding back release dates, why did Nintendo lead people to believe all those titles were coming for June then announce their release dates are TBA. Why the secrecy?

They don't want to distract your mind with useless data. After all if you know the game you want comes out in end of april you could resign from getting one of starting titles.

Wow! very interesting! I remember Silicon Knights when it was around, and Eternal Dakness is one of my favorite GC games. I'm sure most countries branchs of Nintendo are similar to yours and us Americans are spoiled by how much ours does and how much of the limelight they take up. Always fun to hear about gaming in other countries. Hope all your release date questions get answered by the secret NOC (NOC sounds like a cool secret agent group to me....)
