graphics were good imo, or in otherwords looked more-or-less the same as R&C did. i thought the core gameplay was really good at times (whip, sword, and shooting mechanics) and poor at other times (bowling and throwing mechanics). i really want to like this game but what i just can't get over is they made it a set of mini-games. if they left all of those same game-mechanics in place and kept the adventure-style genre each of these franchises is known for i would have loved this game. as is it's hard not to think of it as a cheap cash in. |
Yup, that's how I felt about the games.
TBH, for what it is it's not a 5, definately more of a 7 for mini-game collection. I mean, from what I've played it's solid, the controls work, the graphics are fine and there's enough to do. The review clearly marked it down for not being something else - i.e. closer to the main franchise titles with a proper plot, etc.
Now, I'd prefer if it was a bigger title, but still, as mini-game collections go it's no worse than plenty of others and it does have pretty good production values. Certtainly it looks better than anything comparable on Wii and at least the equal of what we've seen in Kinect titles so far.
I suspect in the same manner of a lot of Wii titles it'll score poorly though. The question is, will it connect (I'm so funny today) with enough of an audience as a decent mini game collection for Move based on popular characters?
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
