Not a surprise having tried the demo.  The graphics are actually a bit better than noted compared to a lot of similar titles, if below what's possible, and the controls are fine but the core gameplay is just seems weak going by the demo.

Mind you, I could see it selling okay at a slow rate due to the kid appeal and nice looks.  My youngest wanted it immediately he tried the demo.

It's always hard to judge with motion titles what will 'stick' more broadly or not I find.

If you're a core fan of the series characters though you will probably struggle.  I'm so used to controlling Sly or Ratchet or Jak with a gamepad it just felt odd using Move, even though the motion controls themselves are sound and work well.

graphics were good imo, or in otherwords looked more-or-less the same as R&C did.

i thought the core gameplay was really good at times (whip, sword, and shooting mechanics) and poor at other times (bowling and throwing mechanics).

i really want to like this game but what i just can't get over is they made it a set of mini-games.  if they left all of those same game-mechanics in place and kept the adventure-style genre each of these franchises is known for i would have loved this game.  as is it's hard not to think of it as a cheap cash in.

Yup, that's how I felt about the games.

TBH, for what it is it's not a 5, definately more of a 7 for mini-game collection.  I mean, from what I've played it's solid, the controls work, the graphics are fine and there's enough to do.  The review clearly marked it down for not being something else - i.e. closer to the main franchise titles with a proper plot, etc.

Now, I'd prefer if it was a bigger title, but still, as mini-game collections go it's no worse than plenty of others and it does have pretty good production values.  Certtainly it looks better than anything comparable on Wii and at least the equal of what we've seen in Kinect titles so far.

I suspect in the same manner of a lot of Wii titles it'll score poorly though.  The question is, will it connect (I'm so funny today) with enough of an audience as a decent mini game collection for Move based on popular characters?

i'm IGNoring the IGN.

Maybe you should check out some of the other reviews for the game, as they are in roughly the same range as the IGN one. Current metacritic average is 59.

It's definately a 6.5 to 7 game.  However, the obvious dissapointment Sony seems to have "wasted" some core mascots on an average title is going to drag the score down IMHO.

Personally I'd ignore the characters in it and ask yourself if you want a fairly casual selection of mini-games involving some combat here and there for Move... if you do it's okay, if not then avoid.

Don't buy it if you think you're getting something like Ratchet and Clank : A Crack in Time except with a plot involving Sly and Jak and using Move... you're not.  You're getting some mini-games they've been forced to play.

I'd note there's a nice hint of irony in a game that forces popular characters into it for the sake of it whose plot is that the characters have been forced into it.

WTF sony? Where is AAA ps move exclusive to push move sales?

6 months on the market and one (move only) ok game, Sports Champions.

Killzone 3, SOCOM and please say Sorcery

Obviously he's talking about games that actually require Move.

Sony keeps trying to sell Move as some sort of core device but the only games that require it don't really appeal to core users.

Killzone? socom? they are selling it as a as an optional controller, nothing else

When the developer was announced, I told everyone not to expect much.  Sadly I was right.

SCE (along with Insomniac, Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch) should've taken more care of this concept and placed it in capable hands.  Shame.

It's really unfortunate this game turned out to be pretty bad.  I was sooo pumped for another game for the Move since games designed specifically for it have been so rare.  I think the concept and everything was there and this could have been an excellent game if they had actually made it more of an adventure / platforming game with Move there just to enhance the gameplay.  Instead they designed a lame mini game collection.

Oh well I'll keep my fingers crossed for Sorcery because that looks pretty promising from what I've seen.  Either way Sony REALLY needs to start putting some serious effort into Move if they want to see continued success because if they continue to realease very little software for it and most of what is released is mediocre it doesn't bode well for the future of the controllers.

Me personally i never got the vibe from Sony that we were going to get alot of Move only games anyway. The whole marketing just screams "optional" control method and in that regard its ok. They do need to go a little more though

Wow, I was right about The Fight an this! Before the Move launched, I mentioned how someone I knew actually had a chance to play this as a demo and they said it was terrible. I had a certain other user's alt yelling at me for both for a while...
