Alright I was recently thinking about whether or not Microsoft would liscense properties to be used on 3DS. last generation Microsoft threw its support behind DS and liscensed several games. Infact Microsoft supported GBA with games prior to DS's release. I right aways thought of AOE:3DS or Banjo:3DS or MechAssualt:3D.
But as I was getting ready to create a thread about whether Microsoft would officially support 3DS a report came back into mind. The report was Microsoft telling the press that WindowsPhone7 was the handheld X-Box everybody was waiting for. This had me wondering well if WP7 was truly a Microsoft handheld why would they support 3DS? This detered me from creating a thread about 3DS support.
But instead offered up new questions If WindowsPhone7 is a handheld X-Box where are the games? DS recieved like almost a dozen Microsoft games during its five years on the market. But as of now I can only think of one major Microsoft IP to make it to WP7 and that is a offshoot of Fable called Fable coin golf.
If gamers are to honestly consider WP7 a true gaming handheld or handheld X-Box it needs X-Box games. Where is BlueDragon , AOE, MechAssualt, Banjo , Halo etc...etc.. Microsoft has so many IP's where are they all.I;m suprised at the lack of quality Microsoft IP's on WP7. Couldn't Microsoft turn to its DS supported studios and liscense them to make games for WP7? Whats stopping them from producing games that will make WP7 a legit handheld X-Box?
Will Microsoft actually make WP7 a handheld X-Box? Or will Microsoft throw its support behind 3DS like it did GBA and DS? If they do support 3DS what will happen to the idea of WP7 being the handheld X-Box everyones been waiting for?
