IE9 is certainly nice, but it's not going to make me change away from Chrome. I still like the design of Chrome better, the difference in performance is negligible and having my browser sync my settings through my Google account when I switch PC or OS is pretty awesome. I'm also a much bigger fan of Google's release schedule, and Chrome 11 is about a month away at most.

I use Opera right now and have for many years (with bouts of playing with FF and Chrome).

I have not had any reason to switch and I do not see that happening anytime soon.

about 0 dollars, MS doesnt pay people as much as you think, you know this don't you. IE9 is extremely quick

Its quick, but not FF4 or Chrome 10 quick.

And I love how TH used Acid3 as a test. FireFox will never get a 100/100 because Mozilla will never use the type of font that Acid3 wants. And that's because it looks better.

Just stick with testing browsers with HTML5 test (beta since it tests more), V8, Krakin, and Sunspider.

I have now completely moved over to IE9 as I find it far and away the fastest browser at the moment but I still use FF4 beta browser every now and then to submit feedback as I have a soft spot for that browser after prefering it for the last few years.

beta.. why not RC?

check 123kinect.com <= some sites payment things etc etc. I have seen a few, otherwise I would be using IE not chrome, being a ms supporter but using chrome feels odd haha/

Once there is a comparison showing FF4 vs latest IE and Chrome... I'll post that too :)

I'll be honest, FF seriously rubs me the wrong way. The whole "We are non profit...please download us." approach, and then when you say no, the whole..."know your rights!" pop up.

This attitude angers me for some reason. If I want to downlaod you FF, I will...no need to guilt trip me.

The FF 4 download is slow to me its obvious their servers are very busy. Seems like its in high demand.

right now i have both IE9 and Chrome and the whole boots faster doesn't matter because i cant really tell the differenct they are both up and running fast which is great. uses Less Memory, well unless you tend to be running an game in one half and an browser in the othere there no problem there, and security, well they are both secure. But bascially what i can get out of this is that IE9 may be better than chrome preformance wise, its extremely better than IE8 or past IE but you aren't going to notice the difference. 

Also IE9 is only for Windows 7 so its not prefect. And also its basically now down to design choice. I prefer the chrome over the IE9 due to the home and refresh buttons are very small and the bookmarks are the easiest of all browsers to get too. But thats me. 

But for an non technical person, there is little reason to rush an get IE9 and lose your bookmarks. 


Oh no it isn't. Its down to the technical aspects of the browsers which IE9 still fails at with flying colors. FireFox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari all support way more aspects of HTML5's functionality as well as most feature way better Javascript 3 and CSS3.1 functionality. Also if you want other features that can make the experience unique Chrome and Firefox are the ones to use.

Also Chrome and FireFox both have hardware acceleration. IE9 has this, but its highly broken.

FireFox also has taken most add-ons and placed them in a separate process making it almost impossible to crash the browser if flash, shockware, or some other add-on to crash it. All you will have to do is refresh the page and the add-on will reload.

While there is no doubt that you know more about web design than me (not a web designer) I'd like to point out that IE beat Firefox in every HTML 5 benchmark and Javascript benchmark that Toms Hardware did.

Chrome beat IE in some HTML 5, Javascript benchmarks but others it didn't.

Again, not saying I want to argue taht IE9 is better at HTML 5 than the others...but according to Toms Hardware, it is.

TH tested 3.6! IT doesnt have have the new Javascript engine in it! FireFox 4 has JaegerMonkey!

Come on you know me...I'm not a fanboy.

What disolitude said made me want to try IE9 out but someone else said it only works with Windows 7 so it looks like I won't be able to get it cause i'm stuck with Vista :-/

Actually, it doesn't run on XP, it runs on both Vista and 7.
