Since its inception, the videogame industry has been focused on meeting the needs of videogame journalists and/or the gamers they represent. Nintendo realized that between "casual" gamers, lapsed gamers, adult non-gamers, and children the vast majority of gamers (and potential gamers) were not having their needs met and decided to focus on those gamers rather than the videogame journalists (and the gamers they represent). As a result of this, much like a teenager who has been spoiled and finally their parents say no to them, the videogame journalists have been throwing a tantrum like a 3 year old.

How can the vast majority of gamers be children when many surveys have shown the average gamer to be in their 30s? I will not look up years old news, but I have read this several times.

He means that between them the non-gamers, lapsed gamers, and children together comprise the majority, and either way an average does not imply where the majority lies (that goes rather to the median, which would be harder to compute in this case).

Mr Khan, I do not need a lesson on Statistics as I have taken four classes in college for biology and psychology.
It is not a big deal other than realizing that there have now been two generations of game players going into a third and people do not just suddenly quit gaming at some magical age. For the average to be thrown off upward, there would have to be a large amount of outliers, meaning alot of gamers either very young 0-10 or very old 60 plus. Neither situation seems likely. For the average to be high the latter would have to be true. The way it is worded makes it sound like children are the vast majority and since he is not responding it is probably not the case.
