I know EXACTLY what you are saying :)

Since its inception, the videogame industry has been focused on meeting the needs of videogame journalists and/or the gamers they represent. Nintendo realized that between "casual" gamers, lapsed gamers, adult non-gamers, and children the vast majority of gamers (and potential gamers) were not having their needs met and decided to focus on those gamers rather than the videogame journalists (and the gamers they represent). As a result of this, much like a teenager who has been spoiled and finally their parents say no to them, the videogame journalists have been throwing a tantrum like a 3 year old.
IGN was fairer than most towards Nintendo, until their Nintendo team disintegrated on itself. No dedicated Nintendo team = a bunch of people who couldn't care less about anything less than the AAA first-party Wii/DS/3DS games, and then that resentment seeps backwards

Remember each staff member is an individual with different preferences. It is not like they sit around at meetings going "alright guys Nintendo sucks so we have to think of more ways to make everybody agree with us."
Certain staff members probably do not like theWii but does that make it a conspiracy?
Please. Give me a break.

Dogs hate cats. Dolphins hate Monkeys (didn't know that, did you?). Turtles hate Pandas. IGN hates Nintendo. Some things just are. You don't ask why.
Seriously, anyone that thinks that IGN has hate for any company in this industry (other than dirct competitors like gamespot) just isn't thinking right. They review games and hardware, not the gaming companies that supply them.

Individuals can and do hate the companies that supply them. You honestly think that some reviewers don't have biases that are associated towards the content provider and not the content itself?

How can the vast majority of gamers be children when many surveys have shown the average gamer to be in their 30s? I will not look up years old news, but I have read this several times.

It's not that they hate Nintendo...they hate the crap that comes out in their system regularly. It's not like the PS2 days where while there was a large amount of crap there were so many great games that it didnt matter. On the Wii there is so much shovelware that it overwhelms the good stuff on the Wii. Its ironic that Nintendo was the one to initiate the Seal of Quality which helped them become the powerhouse they are in the gaming industry back in the day. Today Nintendo couldn't care less about the shovelware on it's console

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
Becos they're too cool for school big fat fanboy crybabies who get upset when things don't go their way!
