When did the GameCube hit $99? I always thought the Wii would be down to $149 by now. I'm happy with mine that I bought from day 1. But after this much time I think $149 is a great price point for pushing the console to more people.
Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

I believe GameCube hit 99.99$ in like 2003. Two years of being on the market. However the GameCube was selling horribly and Nintendo was able to manufacture a model at under a hundred bucks. Obviously Nintendo wasn't making too much off the GameCube hardware at the time but it really bulstered sales and increased software performance.
However the Wii is not doing that bad. Sure its being out sold by 360 during many months this year. But it is still selling very very well. I think a price cut would be smart this winter alongside some killer Apps. I don't see Nintendo cutting the price to 99$ until 2013.
In my opinion Nintendo should cut the Wii's price by 25$ a year. So its currently being sold at many stores for 179.99$ officially (199.99$)obviously retailers are cutting the price themselves to increase demand so Nintendo should drop the price from their prices, so drop that price to around 150$ this winter, then 125.99$ in 2012 alongside Nintendo's next system. Then 99.99$ in 2013. With that price remaining the retail price until hardware sales taper off into oblivion!
