Not sure if this is the right board for it but I figured its more accurate to put this here than the gaming board where I'm sure there will be more troll posts.

Anyway, I'm playing Dragon Quest 6 and I seriously think my game glitched. My Hero doesn't increase his priest class beyond 4 stars and yet I've been fighting monsters in new, stronger, areas all the time and everybody else except him has maxed out one class. It's just getting ridiculous. I'm on level 30 right now.

I'm sorry if this is on the wrong board. Even if it is, could someone whose played this game please tell me what is up with this? It's more than a tad annoying at this point because I really wanted to max out everything with the Hero.

don't have the game but... i know  IX bugged when you used a pirated copy... so if you are, this could be the bug for that one ^^

I pre-ordered it from Amazon... I don't ever do pirated garbage, especially not for wonderful rpgs like Dragon Quest. Honestly, I'm offended, lol.

Haven't you tried talking to that woman that's at the end of the staircases where the Abbot is?  She'll tell you how many  battles you need to win to increase your rank of whichever class you're in.  So try battling 1 fight in a new, hard area and come back and see if that Rank requirement went down by one.

Yes, I have. He never increases beyond  needing 3 more battles. I've seriously been grinding my party in every new area I come by and everyone else but him gets increased star points. It's really ridiculous. Even Carver, who is a level higher than him, is leveling up in star points just fine.
