Forums - Nintendo - Conduit 2: The Game Sony & Microsoft will envy not having on their console.

Despite the improvements, I still have a hard time seeing Conduit 2 go any other way than the route of RS2.

There just isn't a huge demand for such games on the platform, even if it was better than CoD (personal opinions aside here; I'm talking about commercial appeal in terms of units sold).

We'll see how it sells, but there may be no Conduit 3 unless HV insists on keeping the franchise alive. In which case it may end up being a legitimate "budget title" to avoid losses, which really proves nothing in terms of legitimizing the Wii as a viable platform for FPS games.

We're in the 5th year here. No one's buying consoles with the idea in mind that there's going to be some huge shift in the types of software being released for any given platform. No one's buying the Wii because they're expecting more quality FPS games, and the majority of Wii owners really don't even care about the genre. If they did, they'd already own an Xbox or a PS3 or a gaming VGA card in their PC.

@lordtheknight  thats very true, but lets be real here, thats exactly what some people might do. That was a contributing factor as to why RS2 did so poorly compared to part 1. Im not judging it off the 1st one, as an HD owner its hard for me to get excited for a new HD FPS, so do you honestly think that im gonna be pumped for a WII one?? 2 might be a vast improvement over 1, but there is nothing, IMO and  i mean nothing in Conduit2 that i have seen that already hasnt been done on HDs and done better.

I agree (save for controls, which is still improving on both the Wii and Move). So again, the game doens't have to outdo those, just be good.

^^^ im with you man i am, but Conduit2 doesnt have to do COD numbers, hell it might not even have to do KZ numbers and i dont think anyone in their right mind still thinks that Wii FPS can do HD numbers. Way too late for that

@lordtheknight  thats true, hopefully it is and hopefully it helps. I dont like seeing games flop for the crap of it, unless they were really poorly done (Force Unleashed 2)

Then again, not that many HD FPS do those numbers anyway. It's mainly the big titles. Okay, that's not really related to this. Just throwing it out there.

What is relevant is the cost of a Wii FPS is a lot lower, so even selling lower numbers is still profitable. Even RS2 still likely made money.

That means Conduit 2 doesn't have to sell loads to make a profit.

Does lord of knight work for HVS?

Why do you defend everything on the Wii?

No words you use can make Conduit 1 not suck.

Did you even read my comments? I don't think I denied at any point that the first game is lackluster at best.

And if you think I defend everything on it, you obviously didn't see me calling on Red Steel 2, Dead Space Extraction, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M, and other games I can't recall off the top of my head.

@uno  in his defense he did have some things to say about 3DS i believe and got railed by the Ninty fans, so he's not that zealot

I'm not zealot at all. If Nintendo f***s up, or even looks like they will, I will call them on it, which I did with Other M and pricing the 3DS as high as they did (hint, just because you get some focus groups to sit around looking at all the features doesn't mean you can do that with the mainstream).

Okay, I'm zealous about making third parties pay for ignoring their customers just because we bought a system they decided was the "wrong" system, but that's principle, as it would apply to any system (like hosing the 360 out of JRPGs even though it's clear they sell).

^^^ i dont think JRPGs sell that well in Japan on 360, hell JRPGs has been on a serious decline this whole gen
