I have a friend that's Japanese but first generation American or second, I can tell even before the quake she longed for her mother land but she can't help being American. The disaster did bring out some sentiment that I normally wouldn't see on the surface though... usually she's a sucker for irony for ego self defense but not for this one...

Two hands at work are worth more than a million clasped in prayer....Somebody had to say it. If somebody wants to help the people in japan, donating a dollar will be worth infinitely more than asking invisible space men to save them from the destructive tectonic plate system they supposedly designed.
