Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime Set for 3DS Square Enix takes the Dragon Quest offshoot series to the seas for new installment. Posted Mar 16, 2011 at 16:00, By Anoop Gantayat Square Enix opened an official site today for a new 3DS entry in the Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime series, which is known in Japan as Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest. The new game is titled Slime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3: Daikaizoku to Shippodan. The site lists the game as an action adventure with a multiplayer mode that supports two to four players, 3D support, and compatibility with Wi-Fi and SpotPass. A few additional details have leaked out from this week's Jump. Players will apparently be able to head out to sea, build their own ships, and engage in ship-to-ship battles. This would be fitting for the "Kaizoku" part of the name, which means "pirate." (Update 16:12 -- Square Enix has issued a press release confirming that the game will have Slimes riding out on the great seas in ships and engaging in 3D battles with enemy pirate ships.) A release is set for Winter 2011.

There was a Rocket Slime 2? Did it release in the west and I just missed it? I Loved the first one! If this comes here, I'll pick it up for sure, especially if it's pirate themed!

Due to DQIX's very good european sales, I hope this get released here, unlike the other Rocket Slime games.  The fact that we still haven't got DQVI doesn't fill me with hope though

The first one was on the SNES or something. The second is the one on the DS. This now clenched my purchase of a 3DS :D 

I'm pretty sure its a GBA title, but I'll just wikipedia it

Oh, I just knew the DS one was a sequel. ^^

Then give us the first game on the 3DS VC as well. I now have another must-have game for the 3DS (Kingdom Hearts, Paper Mario, and Ocarina if if has skippable cut scenes).

Cool, thanks dudes. I didn't realize the DS one was a sequel. Fun series that just screams handheld and despite being cute, still has a lot of depth and strategy. I'll have to hunt down the GBA one.
