Is it true that the Wii is now down by  over 250,000 units for the Year in Japan?

For that to happen the Wii will have to be down YoY around 14k a week, something I don't think has happened...yet

Down 150k, likely. Heck, even 200k is possible, but 250k seems to me like a late-April occurence

Wii is down 220k YoY

250k looks like a late March occurence.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Is it Wii's worst week ever in Japan (except shortages)?

I'm eager for Wii 2 you see.

Yes, worst week ever. Hadn't been that low even with shortages.

Wii is depressingly low. I dread to think what next week is going to look like across the board.

As long as the reactors doesnt affect Tokyo, the drop in product sales shouldnt be too drastic. Luckily, the northestern part of Japan is the smaller cities.

I think you are missing the point.  Its not about the direct effects, there are indirect effects too.

When you are queuing for fuel and rice/bread, I dont think gaming is going to be on even a long list of priorities.  This is starting to happen in Tokyo too now, it isnt just Sendai.

Yes I know. But they are still receiving food, fuel and water shipment, the situation in Tokyo isnt that bad at the moment. We also shouldnt forget that the other big cities like Osaka, Nagoya, Kobe, Kyoto ect are doing fine, beside some timed electrical seizure that is. But yes the reactors may explode and cause lots of mayhem, in this case the drop would be drastic.

from this number of sells during the disasters over there now, i can see hardcore gamers still carry on buying games but most of casual gamers temporary stop their gaming...
