The latest Crysis 2 review score has arrived via Official PlayStation Magazine, which has given the Crytek FPS an 8/10.

OPM calls Crysis 2 "excellent - technically strong, visually outstanding and full of welcome fresh ideas."

Why no top marks then? OPM's main gripes are with the shooter's "bungled" opening section, and the mag says it takes maybe five hours of "persisting" through "a thorny, poorly signposted and indifferent shooter" until Crysis 2 really kicks off.

But when you do get past those first few hours the mag says you'll be enjoying the fact that Crysis 2 "looks and feels" fantastic.

"Developer Crytek has a deserved reputation for pushing gaming hardware to the brink and its debut work on PS3 is first-rate," it says. 

"It doesn't just look good, it looks different. The Manhattan mix of crooked concrete spires and green urban spaces is refreshing after the relentless dark khaki backgrounds of Call of Duty and Medal of Honor."

Seeing as that's coming from OPM its definitely a good score.

Gamespot and ign should give this game maybe a 9/10! We'll just have to wait and find out

Didn't get a 10/10 because they don't want to show that it looked better than Killzone 3. Can't trust dem dam Playstation mags.

Well....... the only games i think gamespot is fair (overrates) are cod,halo and god of war. Though they ll might be good games gamespot overhypes them a bit too much. Especially ODST getting a 9/10!!

With the amount of hype it had about great once pc exclusive game coming to consoles 8/10 shows it's at most average.
