Anyone who grew up in the 8 bit era knows you can write any old bullshit on a games cover and get away with it. 

The number of spectrum games I would buy that were plastered with superlatives and Amiga screenshots soon taught me to ignore box art.

Not just that, but people in general place too much stock in the words of a gaming journalist. All just for the sake of e-peen stroking. They don't bother analyzing it for themselves and discussing the specifics. Nope, one mag says so, so it must be the truth (though I will admit, I was guilty of this back in the day). This is why it's better to read lensoftruth, or better yet, digitalfoundry. They look at things in depth.

Now if it were numerous mags/websites that echoed similar thoughts, then it holds water, though obviously it still isn't the absolute truth. Otherwise, Uncharted 2 would be my favorite game in the entire generation, when it isn't (it's my 5th favorite, and tied with Assassin's Creed).

Anyway, some people here have to stop commenting on games they haven't played. I see Nsanity trying to prove that Halo:Reach looks better than Killzone 3, although I'm quite sure he never even touched Killzone 3 or any of the big graphical PS3 exclusives. Then I also see some people who act like the best looking PS3 games can't be beaten. But they can be beaten, they just haven't been yet. And I guess many of you also haven't played games like Halo:Reach... Really, I give you guys the same advice which I give to Nsanity: try to be more objective and just don't comment on games that you haven't played or don't even own the console to play it on.

Just for all you guys again: Please don't take this as an offense!

 

But well, there are a few posters in here who really made very good comments (like CGI and trasharmdsister).


And finally my take on the topic:
Everything I've seen so far of Crysis 2 looks great and I will judge for myself if it is the best looking game on consoles or not. I'll probably just rent it though because my interest in Crysis 2 isn't really big.

I never said Halo Reach was better than killzone however i did point out that some of the things in Killzone are far from perfect and already been done in other games so cut the crap guys and stop tryn to spin this on one person.


Fighting over which console game has the best graphics is like fighting over which retard is the smartest. Just looking at your sig makes me realize PCs are so far ahead its laughable. I for one am ready for the next generation.

KZ2, KZ3, UC2, and GoW III all look better

 

Crysis 2 is more technically advanced than any of those games and lot more opened area too.

Agreed, C2 looks alot better then all those games with maybe the exception of KZ3.. Also the color palette is alot more varied then the greys and browns of KZ and GOW, which makes it even harder for the game to stand out, but running on DX9 on consoles this game looks fantastic.

Also, this game will blow KZ3 away on PC with DX11 update, trust me on that.

honestly I played the multiplayer beta on the 360 and it wasn't that great. But i have to admit the gameplay was pretty fun.

Except that crysis 2 doesn't look as good as Uncharted 2. I have played one and seen pretty much everything I could of crysis 2, it doesn't compare. The snow sections dominate everything that crysis 2 can throw at it.

But I will take it as a compliment because even this late PS3 is the only console that can be compared to the PCs, so thanks.

Uncharted 2 overrides all in consoles... for me U2 is one step ahead of Killzone 3.

i find it funny how many of you get upset over this

who cares if crysis 2 or uncharted or killzone or "insert game" is the best looking game
