Not just that, but people in general place too much stock in the words of a gaming journalist. All just for the sake of e-peen stroking. They don't bother analyzing it for themselves and discussing the specifics. Nope, one mag says so, so it must be the truth (though I will admit, I was guilty of this back in the day). This is why it's better to read lensoftruth, or better yet, digitalfoundry. They look at things in depth.
Now if it were numerous mags/websites that echoed similar thoughts, then it holds water, though obviously it still isn't the absolute truth. Otherwise, Uncharted 2 would be my favorite game in the entire generation, when it isn't (it's my 5th favorite, and tied with Assassin's Creed).
