Forums - Gaming - L.A Noire should I buy it,if so why?

The point of this is too help me make a decision on whether or not I should pre-order L.A Noire.

The game is about you being a cop and solving murders,I know that and the tech that it has but I don't know if I'm going to like the game.

I watch shows about cases and all that,Case Closed,I hear everyone is excitied I just want to join the hype.

Do you have/or played Heavy Rain? I heard some commentators mention that there are some things in common in relation to the investigative approach. Could serve as a benchmark.

Yes,I have played Heavy Rain.

The gameplay is different though,I really want to give this game a try but $60 and a new genre.

I don't know it feels like I'm going to have a 50/50 chance of liking it.

I think we should encourage games like this by taking a chance on them, or else developers won't come up with interesting new ideas for games and put them in place for AAA games as opposed to just indi or iOS/Android games

Personally in that case I would wait for reviews and public response, not so much for the public scores, but rather to get a better idea on the content of the game, length, etc. Are there any specific benefits for pre-ordering which attract you?

I generally am not a fan of pre-ordering only did so for two games this gen, SSFIV (which was not such a big question mark being a re-hash of SFIV) and GT5 (which I had a lot of trust in).

Well with the $10 bonus and the pre-order exclusive,I'll give it a try.

i only pre order games that i can try beforehand, demos or betas, otherwise i can wait and see

Although this looks like the sort of game that I'd wait before purchasing, it is after all, published by R*, I don't think I was let down yet by their games except for GTA IV, but in this case the game looks innovative of sorts and you rarely, if at all see this type of game. I like the investigative skills and the ability to solve cases as side quests at the same time whilst working on the main case. I don't know this game just has interesting written all over it for me.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Yes because the Australian gaming industry is in an very bad shape and La Niore success could open expansion of team bondi which = more jobs for australian game developers which in 2008 were around >8,000 employeed and no there is around <2000 so there are 6000 people who have no work (or in other jobs).

Also the game looks great

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
