1. What are your thoughts on it. Read bolded.

2. Also sounds good.

3. I'll reword it for you. We so far know the roles of the two dead and that there are at least two factions that can do nightkills. We have two role claims and from them an impiled role of role blocker or driver.  So what are your thoughts on all of this and what it likely means for the make up of the entire game.

4. When you can then.

1.Early roleclaims are annoying. Outlaw should of layed hints that if he were killed could be found to show someone was innocent. He should of waited till maybe he found someone who visited a dead guy or was about to be lynched.

3. There are often at least two people(factions) that can kill. This could really mean a variety of things. two mafias, one mafia and a powerrole that can kill, one mafia and a serial killer, etc etc.

Looking back I can see why Hatmoza claimed and it makes sense.

y'know what? The quoting system on vgc is the most retarded system that I have ever used...

"What you're saying is that "I push a lynch on you" is metaphorical, and in no way related to your vote on Heph, despite you yourself saying that your vote for Heph was a combination of your own 1 and 2?"

It was to show how a first day lynch could yield information. A combination of 1 and 2 is why I was voting for him. Obviously if I didn't want a first day lynch then I wouldn't of voted for him.

Understood.

But it brings me back to this question.

Your vote was based on the combo of one and two, of which part was reasoning that it gives more information when you lynch on day 1. Heph criticized your idea, because he thought ,as I did (maybe wrongly), that he had not been active enough for there to be any real connections or relevant information divulged. You replied that it had nothing to do with his activity level and everything to do with the resulting votes and lynch trains discussion etc etc (something I agree with now).

Given the above, if your basis for voting was at least partly to get information, why did you not push for the metaphorical lynch? As a follow-up, what information did you gain?

I found it interesting that he waited all of 1 post after till he started misquoting me to make me look bad

Besides that nothing much, because I of course didn't actively push for a lynch. I really just sat back and watched what the other people did. Looking for stuff that stuck out from people's usual playstyles looking for people that bonded and all. I have a couple of people that I'm going to build some cases on once I do my presentation.

@your first question:

Not sure if you missed my post on the top of the page or not

Continuing post because it wouldn't let me continue after the quote.

Obviously if people tried to defend Heph or jump on the vote just because someone else did then it too would have yielded some info. Giving the powerroles something to go off of.

But pushing for a first day lynch is a headache on vgc, that I have gone through a couple times and didn't want to try coming up on midterms

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

So many lurkers online some even posting on other pages but not here.  Who to vote for???

Ok, thank you for that. I admit that it does seem to clear up a lot of things.

I think in a lot of ways, this has proved to me that you are town. After all, based on your explanation and reasoning and method etc, it comes off like you were doing a gambit, albeit a very basic one as in, "vote x, and see who supports my reasoning and who attacks it vs who defends heph etc".

This is a type of gambit that I run nearly every game as a townie, and it usually helps me get a feel for the players, more or less.

like who? Darth?

I'm going to vote Darth, not just for the lurking (even though perhaps he's probably just too busy for THIS thread vs others), but for that roleclaim.

Vote: Darth

this should make it L-5

I have some questions.

1. Outlaw why did you find in necisary to roleclaim this early?

For everyone else what are your thoughts on the early roleclaim

2. What is a reasonable amount of time to wait for those that are currently lurking?

3. What are your thoughts on the current make out of the game based on deaths role claims and implied roles? I don't want this one to get too drawn out though.

4. Do you feel as I feel that metal gear is being an active lurker?

i thought they were for outlaw (due to Q1):

1) premature but as he says, he did not roleclaim, far from it. had he done it after hat's claim it would have been fine (didn't check actually but it's what i recall).

2) if they post elsewhere... replace them, we'll see in the morning.

3) already talked about this... what disturbs me is the overall change in player attitude, there are many i can't get a read on yet due to this, i need to addapt too.

4) no, although he doesn't say all that much in his posts, he does post enough to be informative, at least on himself. I'm not saying he's not suspicious, but I'm not about to vote for him based on classiffication such as active lurking.

2

Thanks for pointing that out now fixed.

1. Then what do you call something where someone reveals that they have a night role and what they did with that night role?

2. Sounds good to me.

3. individual players changing or change in the makeup of the group? Although I would say both myself.

4. Ok, although I am about ready for vote for him although I wanted to wait till midweekend to see if there was any other change with the other lurkers.

1) FoS wonk

3) well many individuals, i don't see what you mean by group ^^

4) free to do as you must.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Just had a chance to check it out, sorry missed the questions before and honestly thought they were only for outlaw

For everyone else what are your thoughts on the early roleclaim
I personally find it a bit suspicious, especially in the case when Darth just out of the blue roleclaimed despite his constant lurking and lack of participation.

2. What is a reasonable amount of time to wait for those that are currently lurking?
I'd say about 24h period, if the player is active on other threads then especially that amount, or even less, after all if you sign up for a game of mafia you should at least pay attention to the events/comment every now and then

3. What are your thoughts on the current make out of the game based on deaths role claims and implied roles? I don't want this one to get too drawn out though.
I think there is a high chance that we have either two mafia families, or one with a combination of either SK or as someone had pointed out, an amateur vigilante.

4. Do you feel as I feel that metal gear is being an active lurker?

Can't really comment, he seems to be commenting appropriately but sometimes his comments are a bit restricted, surprising considering he has experience with playing the game, so a bit suspicious in terms of the fact that he doesn't give out much information in his posts and they're.. vague?

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

I am in favor of Darth just to see if the undead thing is true. I can't think of a reason other than the undead thing for darth to ask the doctor not to heal him. It would be a kind of cool twist. Plus he is way ahead in the vote, and this game is starting to drag  out like a lot of recent games.

As to the questions, I dislike role claims early on unless there is some good evidence. Nothing to lynch people over though. It can either lead to, or alleviate a lot of confusion as demonstrated by Outlaw and Hatmoza respectively this game.

Varies. I was pretty much gone yesterday due to needing to go to the doctor and it would suck to have come back under suspicion for that. However I was not logged on so it should have been obvious to everyone that I simply had something to do in real life which needs to take priority. After a few days of unexplained abscence though it would be bad. If someone is on and posting though I have no tolerance for it. Play or don't. Dragging out the game is just annoying and pointless. Better to just lynch them and move on.

No real comment on 3. I wanna see how it all plays out still. I am not convinced of anything one way or another fully. Most likely I think we have one small mafia faction and a serial killer. Other than that I am reserving judgment until we sort out the lurkers.

Metal gear does seem to be active lurking, but that is better than just lurking so I am lookign past it for the moment.
