@prof I do think that "20%" thing is a tad weird, that 2 lynch rule seems like it'd be easier to explain both games

ABC! It's NOT about the rule! It's about his INSISTENCE!

So what are you inferring based on his insistence with the 20% rule?

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Maybe he's then trying to lead metalgear away from more mafia, the lower numbered the mafia are the harder is it to tell if they're mafia or townies. He could be trying to make metalgear not think that there couldn't be too many, so he won't try to link people together out of fear that there can't be too many mafia.

edit: too many typos

Yes, it is possible that if there are siblings, both could be townies. However, I would think that twin townie siblings would know each other, like a small group of masons.

Honestly, I don't believe a town-mafia sibling group would know each other. I think the mafia would know the town (or maybe not) and the townie wouldn't even know that he is a sibling. Having a townie that knows he is a sibling with a mafia is basically a free mafia death. It doesn't make sense to me.

baal do your own thinking and stop taking up space.

Like for example in a game there's 5 mafia

One mafia player (not known at the time) states there couldn't be over 3 mafia in the game

The others believe him

if a mafia dies they'd think there would be only be 2 left

the players will go after people who seem to be cooperating, leading to more townie deaths by association of they somehow hit a mafia.

Then there would be "1" left (really 3) and the town would start to go after more people actively, causing confusion

What was hard to understand about that?

The first bit was me explaining my post at night.

The second was a statement of fact.

You know what, I dunno

I'd also like to bring into question the abscence of dsister, who has not been posting in this thread but in others.

Well the townie wouldn't be told he's a sibling with a Mafia. The role PMs would look like that:

Player A : You're a Mafia Sibling, your brother is Player B. If he dies, you die.

Player B: You're a Sibling, your brother is Player A. If he dies, you die.

Can someone, anyone, anywhere, read my posts about dsis?

I feel I am making some really good posts and I haven't had one comment on either of them.

Guess we got caught in the debate about names, we're not really good at multi-tasking it seems.

About your first link, he does contradict himself. Although I think "Look at it this way. I push a lynch on you people start suspecting me [...]" could be interpreted as "Let's suppose I push a lynch on you..." meaning this whole sentence was just theory.

But that was after the fact.

Heph was arguing against dsis vote, which I agreed with.

To repeat that here, dsis said that for two reasons he voted Heph.

1. Because day 1 lynches produce info, and 2. because he doesn't like that Heph admits to lying.
I drew the same conclusion as Heph. Heph had 3 total posts before dsis voted him. What possible information would he be able to gather from that? 2 of the posts were jokes even! Heph said this, and Dsis responded with the quote "I push for your lynch, discussion happens, etc etc".

yes but aren't siblings usually one mafia, one town?

I remember in the final fantasy round, one of the players on my mafia team was a sibling, and we knew who the townie was, but he didn't know who his mafia sibling was IIRC. I forget what happened, but we were able to use that information to our benefit.
