No, you have the idea everyone should just say, omg, terrrific with no comments. This vgchartz, we are supposed to analyze sales here. saying it sells more in the US or not,  does not take away how immensly popular Kinect is. But, you seems to think no one should mention it. The demand Kinect has in the US has no comparaison anywhere else. It is truly a ( Iphone, Wii, Ipad) effect here. It's popular elsewhere, but not to the degree it is here.

It's funny you're the ONLY one who brings this up, others critisize it without mentioning "It only sells in the U.S" I don't even bother replying to them.


I get it, Kinect is a success. 10 million is a great achievement in so little time...but I'm with psrock on this. There is no need to champion the thing everywhere  you go, which you unfortunately have been in the habit of doing since its release.

Don't fight me on that either, look at your sig prediction. Diskinect.

He doesn't specify a date, for all you know it could sell 80% of his prediction by the end of this year alone. You can't judge someone by their predictions, otherwise I'd be judging half the PS3 fans on this site

Well one of the best guys at making shitstorm threads is back, but he plays cool games so it is a good. The epic laughs have already begun looking in ps3rock's and seece's direction.

only the 360 is up YOY.  Both Wii and PS3 are down.

Wii sales are massively down.

So yes, it has affected other console sales.

 

But the PS3 is still outselling the Xbox 360 worldwide.  So the Xbox 360 really needed Kinect to stay more in the game.  Xbox 360 sales would be even lower and behind the PS3 is it weren't for Kinect.  Bigger picture here, baby.

Is it painful for you to admit Kinect is doing brilliantly outside the U.S It's doing awesome in UK and Mexico, and likely other english language dominated countries. (No I don't think Mexico is an english speaking dominated country FYI)

No he's right.  There is no sign of PS3 and Wii having different sales patterns since Kinect launch.  PS3 is down vs it's own peak from previous year when Slim launched but it's trending the same after Kinect as before.  Same for Wii really.  For Kinect to have affected them their sales patterns should have changed right after Kinect launched, but they didn't in any noticable way.

Wii was trending that way before Kinect launched and was PS3.



Maybe I misunderstand you, but the Slim launched in 2009.

So it is down YoY the year after the slim. Right?

Yeah, but this period is looking at beginning of 2011 to beginnig of 2010 and during early part of 2010 PS3 was still up from the tail of the slim launch.

Now it's down YOY of course.  As we go forward further into 2011 we'll see a clearer view of how it's trending.

360 is up because its comparing against pre-Slim 360 and pre-Kinect sales.

The key point is 360 is up relative to itself and PS3 is down but there is no evidence PS3 is down because 360 is up.  See?  Most people will just assume 360 being up and PS3 being down means 360 is affecting PS3 sales and "winning" but in fact both are selling well they're both just at different points with respect to their last major peak.

One thing your missing is that 360 is having a hard time keeping up with Kinect bundle 360's I have been all over and Kinect bundles are few and far between.  Every time I see them they are sold out in a couple of days or so. I just went to wal-mart and finally seen more then 2 360's in  and they where all not Kinect bundles. Just 250 GB 360's but they did have stand alone units of Kinect there.

So when they actually have kinect bundles and regular bundles all stocked up we can see what is what.  I think stock has been all f'ed up since christmas because the sales of the 360 where over the top because of kinect.
