Good question. There's so many engines out there but no one is nearly as widespread as Unreal Engine.

They are all fairly popular and I personally think that the Havok, Phyre and Source engines are some of the best.



Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Most of the popular ones are listed, there are some older ones people use like Doom Engine and Cube. Also, there's Cry Engine which is used in games from Crytek like Crysis and Far Cry.
