Forums - Sales - PS3 sold 403,000 in February. Kinect bundles outsold Move bundles 5:1

Well KZ3 has sold 750 thousand so thats good for move software and Socom has an very good move bundle that can move units.

An Besides the Move doesn't have to be an huge success like Kinect because move can be easily added to titles that use Dullshock while Kinect games need kinect only games and adding kinect functionality for an core title like an shooter or an action game takes alot of effort and work which developers or publishers may not bother to do.

So has the move failed? nope and its doing well.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Still boggles my mind that Kinect has sold as much as it did, looking at its library. I mean what games are people playing with this thing?

The 360 has hundreds of games so I don't know what your talking about.

hahaha he was talking about kinect haha

Yeah I know...but my point was just because you own Kinect doesnt mean you can't pick up all the other amazing titles that the 360 has to offer.

And what do those other 360 games have to do with Kinect?

I thought people wanted Kinect to be viewed as a separate console? Can't have it both ways.

Now your just trying to justify what you said by deflecting that on me even though I have never said such a thing and I don't give 2 shits about people that say that, not to mention it has NOTHING to do with what I said.

Point is there is absolutely nothing to stop people that buy Kinect from buying other 360 games.

Stop cherry picking and accept the bolded/underlined statement in my reply.

Ok, but KINECT (by itself) is not a selling point for other 360 games, because other 360 games do not support Kinect. I don't see how this is hard to understand. So I was merely wondering what KINECT games were selling KINECT hardware.

I would say its not so much Kinect games that are selling all of the Kinect hardware. Its probably due to a variety of reasons.

1. Someone is on the edge of buying a 360 and a game like Dance Central pushes them over the edge and they get the Kinect bundle and a mix of Kinect and non-Kinect games.

2. I can garauntee that a good deal of people are buying it for the novelty/showing off to friends their new tech.

3. People buying it because they know it has some pretty good potential to have awesome games later down the road.

IMO these are 3 really big reasons as to why Kinect is selling so good....I guess the proof would be in the really low Kinect only game attach rate.

Kinect software attach rates blow Move software attach rates out of the water. Kinect software is actually selling pretty well. Move software, OTOH, doesn't seem to sell at all...horrible numbers.

Except when you consider Dance Central and Wii sports quickly shot over a million in addition to the fact it came with a pack in.....that attach rate can't be that low.

I think people bickering over the console sales and which one is going to have a 2 million gap at the end is pointless at this point. The casual market is where the fight is happening. And considering these figures, Sony is going to miss out on the big casual pie. They'll get a taste but it looks like that's about it.

Well there are over 9 million Kinects that have been sold and I believe there are less then 9 million units of software sold for Kinect...so yeah prett low...
