Forums - Sony - Any New PS3 deals happening?

I haven't played by PS3 in over a month due to my old PS2 B/C PS3 getting the YLOD and I do not want to pay Sony to repair it since it will happen again.

I want to buy a new slim and I would like to maybe buy a bundle or get something like a $100 amazon credit. Is there any sales going on right now or any new bundles coming? Does anyone know if there is going to be a Socom 4 bundle? I pretty much won't be playing much till Socom 4 comes out (4/19) so I'm willing to wait. I might try find a Killzone 3 bundle if they are still available but I rather get a credit discount or a store bundle deal. Any help?

you could check cheapassgamer.com they have a list of current deals and stuff

Everyday I'm hustlin'.

Wii and DS owner.

Both Best Buy and Amazon are having deals where if you buy a 160GB PS3, you get a $50 giftcard. That's the best that are out there right now.

I got 3 deals for you sir, all Amazon.com.

1. ps3 160gb standalone: $299 $50 Amazon.com store credit/gift card

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-160-GB/dp/B003VUO6H4/ref=zg_bs_videogames_13

2. ps3 320gb PS Move bundle:  $350.89 --> This is the lowest I've ever seen this bundle listed as (has always been $399). It dropped to $350 a few days ago, and it's been selling like hotcakes ever since (even better than Kinect standalone and Kinect 360 bundles); so, if you think you might want this one I'd get it semi-quickly

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-320GB-System-Move-Bundle-3/dp/B002I0K956/ref=zg_bs_videogames_8

3. ps3 160gb Killzone 3 bundle:  $299

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-160GB-Killzone-Bundle/dp/B004K324MK/ref=zg_bs_videogames_23

Oh, and all bundles should be no taxes, free shipping:)

Hope this helped.

Edit: btw...already mentioned the Move bundle is an excellent deal, but figured I'd comment on Killzone 3 since you mentioned potentially wanting it...I played it over my recent spring break, and I must admit that I had an absolute blast with the online multiplayer. I'm saying this as someone who has never enjoyed playing a fps game's online multiplayer EVER before. Have tried:  MW1, MW2, Halo's, Resistance 1 & 2, and just found all of them boring. Even disliked Killzone 2's online multi bc I didn't like the controls (they are SPOT ON in Killzone 3 imo). So anyways, yeah...just figured I'd give my opinion on KZ3 bc it's multiplayer surprised me so much. I'm normally a campaign guy primarily, but may consider buying KZ3 in the future just for it's multiplayer.

Yea, your best bet right now would be Amazon.  I wouldn't expect another $100 gift card anytime soon, and I wouldn't expect a price cut until at least summer, if not later yet in the year, so the bundles/deals listed above are probably your best options.

Why do some people create threads then never post in them again? Lol. Did you make a decision?

I been doing some research like I always do before I make a big purchase

I am still unsure because now after hearing Sony wants to lower the price of the PS3 knowing my luck the price will drop a month after I purchase one. I haven't been gaming much at all the last two months (mostly due to the YLOD). I know on April 19th I'm buying three games Socom 4, Portal 2 , and FF4 (PSP). I know Easter is around that time so do you think a price cut in NA could happen?

If you guys think it's very unlikely I'll proably just purchase the slim off Amazon while I could still get the $50 gift card. how do did you purchase the bundle on amazon without tax? Tax added $24 to my checkout. Do you know how long the $50 gift card sale last because I'm thinking of waiting till at least tomorrow so I could see if any local retailer like Best Buy or Target is having a better deal.

ummm......Amazon doesn't charge tax, so I surely hope you don't have tax being added to your Amazon checkout...are you sure its not some sort of expensive shipping option it selected?

Depends on the state you live in.

Depends on the state you live in.

Edit: So yea, I looked it up, and turns out you are right.  These unlucky 5 states are subject to sales tax on Amazon: Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Dakota, or Washington.

Learn something new every day I guess.
