But is 150MB enough? Some gamesaves can become quite large, the limit should be far bigger than this. This should be close around 2-4GB for gamesave data

Awesome, that certainly gives me hope. Now we just need developers to start using it, and using it alot! |
I'm hoping we'll see patches for older games, too. LBP2 and KZ3 would be nice.
I gotta wonder how it'll be implemented though. Do you have to specify that it save online as opposed to offline? Will it auto-save online for games that never even prompt you to save, like LBP2?
If it's proper cloud saving, it'll be like Steam, where your offline and online saves are one and the same. You don't even have to think about it. When you save, it saves to both places, with your offline save overwriting your online save should you ever play offline.
If it is like Steam in that regard, then this could actually be a better overall implementation than Steam, given Steam doesn't support online saving at all for older games.
Though Steam is free.

This makes sense, given when news of 3.60 was first leaked a month or so back, the leak-ee said it would be up to the developer to imlpement the feature. I hope they make it mandatory. Edit: It's time's like this I wish we could update thread titles. Making a new thread for this seems totally redundant, but I guarantee most people who read this thread won't see this post. |
quoting so more people can see ;)
OT: Win! PS plus looks way more appealing now

I'm interested in seeing where it goes from here as well. Seeing as the feature has only just been announced now (and developers could have known about it for a little while), we might see a bunch of games announcing support for it in the near future. I hope it's as comprehensive as the Steam implementation, but I guess time will tell for now.
I wonder how one can turn THIS sony news into a negative one...hmm it's gonna take a lot of skillz

They will probably start small and hopefully crank it up over time. At some point I imagine there may be a cloud save feature separate from PSN plus and also the ability to add more space to the base package.

Well that crank better start turning, 150mb wont even put a dent into all the gamesaves I have
It would be awesome if you could just easily copy over your saves to a flash drive.
The management for your media is easy yet you can only copy saves over one....at...a..time. What's worse are the games with the protection.
Shame you have to pay to get this backup feature.
