Forums - Gaming - Looking for a new RPG

if you don't mind some low res sprites and turn based combat you could give some Spider web software games a go, they provide large demos so you can't lose really. Aparently their new game Avadon: The Black Fortress is dragon age inspired but that is currently only out on mac.

You could also look into Drakensang, tho I haven't played the games.

If you already played all the better AD&D ones but not it, and ONLY if you got spare time before you buy another game and ONLY if you find it at bargain prices (I got it bundled with a PC gaming magazine), you could try Temple of Elemental Evil. Its pros: well done party system and well implemented AD&D rules; some furious fights with hordes of enemies. Its cons: story somehow bland, full of small episodes not very well tied together (Morrowind, despite being as much loosely tied between main and side quests, offers a far greateer sense of continuity and immersion, even when you get lost in that huge lot of sidequests) and not very inspired, it ruins a little bit the atmosphere unless you aren't in the middle of the hardest fights.

I think I'm going to go with Neverwinter nights 2 platinum edition on Steam.  I played baldurs gate but bypassed  NWN when I stopped PC gaming for a while.  It looks like a good place to start and hopefully by the time I'm done with it there will be something new on the horizon that follows the D/D rules or something similar.
