Forums - Microsoft - I might buy a 360 tomorrow. I need some opinions (360 owners only)

I got a really great deal on the new 360 (buying it from a friend's, friend). I might pick it up tomorrow. I don't know if I am missing any info on my analysis of the 360's offerings. Can everyone who participates in this spread the groupings  into two parts, existing and games coming. If I buy, I will use it for multiplatforms so obviously I am not asking that. I need you to list the top exclusives from last year and this year. If there are any notable exclusives that arent from last year, add that extra as well.

I cant speak much to exclusives that are coming but there are alot of great exclusives already out;

-Alan Wake, Forza 3, Halo Reach, Limbo, Fable

And so many great multiplats..  sorry this answer probably isnt as robust as you were hoping for.

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

I know fable 3 and alan wake, I am sure you know about Halo Reach.

Then there's splinter cell conviction but I didn't like it. It feels like a james bond game so if you like such games then you could buy it.

This year, there's Gears of War 3 and Forza 4 only announced. Since I don't have a kinect I don't know much about kinect games.

You will have to wait till E3 for anything else this year.

Funny how my mind refused to even recall such a game existed ... wait why am I laughing? I miss Chaos Theory

lol I don't blame your mind. What blows my mind is the no. of people that actually think this is an improvement over its predecessors lol.

And people thought double agent was bad.

A lot of people have mentioned Alan Wake, Fable 3, Halo Reach, Forza 4, and Gears 3.  The only one I didn't like at all was Fable 3, and I loved the first one, thought the second was fun too.  There's also Mass Effect and the first Condemed game, I liked both of those a lot.

The last gen version of Double Agent (for XB and PS2) was apparently a brilliant game in the same league as Chaos Theory. Unfortunately I only had the chance to play the "next-gen" version. I still plan on finding a used XB copy and playing it.

Some people like the more action oriented game that it became. To each their own I suppose. I've been a die hard fan since the first as I absolutely adored the stealth and gadgetry. To be honest, as much as I always wanted to love the MGS series I always enjoyed the gameplay of SC more. I understand and greatly appreciate what MGS did for the industry and it is a remarkable package, but SC just felt more fun to me... that is until Double Agent and Conviction.

Is double agent on the PC the next gen version?

Didn't you have a 360 before? What games did you have for it back then (if you did... I might be confusing you for someone else). Well the obvious ones from me will be Halo Reach and Alan Wake. Personally I think Alan Wake was the best story in a game this gen. The gameplay does get a tad tedious by Chapter 4-5, but the story is compelling enough to keep going on and then going back and playing it again. Picking up on details you missed and hints dropped all along the way is a real treat.

Some of the best stuff on the 360 lately has been from XBLA. Limbo is the notable one from recent years and Torchlight is a great title if you haven't experienced it yet on PC.

I haven't had the chance to play Fable 3 yet so I can't comment on that but I've heard it's a lot like Fable 2, which I enjoyed but hoped it would've had more content. So if you played Fable 2 and enjoyed it, maybe you'll enjoy Fable 3 as well?

I had a 360 a year and a half ago, but it red ringed on me. I had my gamerscore up, but decided to take it down because of my inactivity. I also wonder if that offer is still up from Microsoft to get Halo Reach with your renewel of Xbox Live.

Win. Easily one of the most overlooked and underappreciated games of the gen.

Totally, first person survival horror at it's finest, I just finished the second one, just as good as the first, I really hope they make a 3rd!

Deadly Premonition was supposed to be a blast

Can't think of many others that were released last year that are exclusives

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

I just checked my dashboard but I didn't see it there. I am from Canada so I'm not sure it was ever even available here as I haven't turned my 360 on in a while. I'll see what I can find online.

It seems to not have a defined end date and only shows up on the dashboards of silver users according to some articles I've seen (like this one: http://www.gamerzines.com/xbox-360/news/new-live-subscription-deal.html ).

I just read up on the screw job Microsoft pulls on you. Thanks though, Microsoft does it again. They don't give you a downloadable version of the game but the  box 8-10 weeks after the purchase of Xbox Live. You're better off buying the game at the exact same moment as the live purchase. God Microsoft.
