Forums - Sales - ME2 Digital Sales at least 10% of total sales

According to this article at IGN

"Riccitiello admitted that while EA did "absolutely nothing" to market the PS3 version, the digital copy captured a double-digit percent of total sales for Mass Effect 2 on PS3. EA has not revealed a specific sales number since launch, but Riccitiello said it was "meaningful.""

Whatever the actual value is, we know it's at least 10%, which is at least 26k sales through digital downloads, using VGChartz number for physical sales of ME2.

That could be more than $1 000 000 for EA from digital sales alone.

Well I don't know if it would all go to EA no? How much does PSN charge?

I assumed 40 of 60 goes to EA.
Not quite sure exactly how it works but they would have to pay a fee to PSN and about $10 to SONY.

This also gives the interesting information that ME2 sold 260k plus (>26K) which is > 286k in 6 (?) weeks. That's not bad. It will reach 600k before the ME3 will give it a boost I think.

It would actually be slightly better than that.  A minimum of 288,763 going by VGC numbers.  That's because it is at least 10% of the total, not 10% of the retail numbers.

That's not 10%... a double-digit percent could be anything... 10%, 15%, 20%, 50%, 99%.

And that number is based in shipped figure... not sales to consumer tracked by VGC.

Eg. If 10% is true.

VGC: 260k sold = ~500k shipped (or even more).

So 10% of 500k is 50k.

That's why the op says at least.

I am waiting for it to be put on sale on PSN, then I will get the digital version.

The bankrupt EA sent this game to die, let's see how they handle Mass Effect 3.
