Forums - Microsoft - Epic: We Still Get A Buzz From Platform Exclusives

Everytime someone wants to say, "why are there even exclusives anymore? It's wasted sales and stupid. blah blah blah X-company is dumb etc etc", they can just remind themselves that there are pros and cons to being exclusive, and there are a lot of devs who enjoy the benefits of being exclusive and value those benefits far more than some arguable amount of sales.

The bottom line: A game can sell better as an exclusive on one console, than as a multiplat. Sure, they aren't doing multiplat sales numbers, but there's a much higher hype train, support from the publishers, and less WORK.

Note to myself: "Get a buzz" is a synonym for "receiving moneyhats", use this in a future thread. Also, run out of milk. Need to buy more tomorrow.

We get 4L for 2.50 pounds, you want me to get you some when I go out?

Oh, so that's what that Epic Games guy was talking about. But isn't a single Buzz a little bit less for the whole staff?

It depends on how many buzz units in the shipment of buzz...

Tease.

One point in which i will actually agree with something Epic has to say. They do get respect for still making exclusives in this day and age (albeit published by Microsoft)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Hopefully more exclusives from Epic. Gears has sold greatly on the 360 and it would be nice to see further exclusives from them.

It's just that simple.

I don't get it. Why is Epic talking about partnering with Microsoft and mentioning Buzz? I thought Buzz was a PS3 exclusive.

With Gears sales standing at around 13.6m I can't think of a reason to stop the exclusivity, it's obvious that Epic has crafted quite a name on X360 and I think the sales are sufficient testatement to that, if Gears were multiplat I am not sure that the sales would be as high, totalling all the platforms into account.
