There is said to be 2-3 weeks worth of PS3's in Europe if the ban isn't lifted. The injuction lasts for 10 days but LG may seek an extension of the injuction.

I heard all the PS3 where piled up in a bon fire style stack. They are just waitng for the judge to give the word to destroy them all. lol!! Bring the marshmellows.

Though Sony I imagine if they lose will just pay whatever they have to,  to make LG happy.

Wonder how many opinions will change, now that Sony is the "agressor" and not the victim of IP law.

interestingly enough, i haven't seen any opinions change. Sony screwed themselves in this.

The only way Sony "Screwed" themselves is by acting like a lawsuit troll and sueing everyone that does someting they don't like.

Sony was trying to pick on a big company instead of a small company/individual this time, and got their asses handed to them by an "Ace in the hole" LG no doubt had for years and never planned to act on.

Such things show the unwieldiness and problems of IP laws.  In reality, every company is probably infringing on dozens of copyrights from the other companies.  They just rarely go to suit because it's everyone.  Who knows who'd win and lose.

Sony has gone around suing other companies in the past, so this isn't anything new for them. The problem here is Sony started this lawsuit issue by suing LG first. Now LG was well aware of Sony's infringement and was not going to act on it until Sony decided to call them outNow LG can probably pay Sony in damages and most likely Sony will have to tame their ego for once and pay LG a large sum of money as well. All of this can be worked out eventually. The key is, how fast can Sony & LG agree on a compromise? This could be over in less then a week or literally last months.

Yeah, that's generally how I see it too.

It's why it doesn't pay to be in hyper sueing mode like Sony is.  You win a bunch of small battles, but if someone calls you on it... it's trouble.

Really, all these IP wars show is the stupidity of IP laws.  EVERYONE seems to be infringing on someone elses shit, and you can't survive unless your a mega power.
