kicking an owl is really low

Somebody ought to kick his ass. This reminds me of my asshole neighbor who battered an opossum to death right in the middle of his yard. People can the most dangerous animals.

What an asshole. Why did he do that, specially in front of everyone?

I found this news stupid when I read them...I mean, when a player punches another in a football pitch you don't initiate a legal proceeding, and they want to do one for kicking an owl?...I think it's a bit retarded

Punching a grown man during an organized sport is acceptable considering its a sport and sometimes tensions rise. Its  almost expected in a physical sport, which is why all professional sports only fine the individual.

However, kicking a defenseless animal that is in no way harming anyone else is the same as if a toddler had wandered onto the field and that player kicked him off. In both cases you have a victim that cannot defend itself nor is it an active member in the sport.

That player should be fined heavily by the association and penalized for animal cruelity.

...The beautiful game...

Yeah...kicking an animal is the same as kicking a human....

What's the difference?

While I agree on a certain level as we eat animals. However, in a general sense there is no reason to blatantly attack another living thing. Even in culling animals for food consumption there are humane laws that are required as the animal does not need to live through unnecessary pain and torture.

In this specific example, there is no difference in kicking that owl and kicking a child that could wander onto the field.

Of course there's a difference, it's hardly the same kicking a human than kicking an animal, you gotta be a member of PETA to think it's the same. Now, I don't go saying "go and kick animals for fun", but in this case it's obvious the guy did it 'cause his team was losing (match was 2-1 for Junior and I know Junior is the red-and-white) and he didn't want time to be lost, he didn't do it because he's a sadic that enjoys making animals suffer

It's pretty obvious he wouldn't have done the same with a toddler because no one has the same regard for an OWL than for a HUMAN BEING

That is a stupid argument. So if you're having a bad day, its ok to go home and kick your dog? wtf. You don't have to be a PETA person, of which I am not, to know that is its morally wrong to attack another living thing without cause (i.e. food or defense, referring only to animals here).

In this specific case, there is no difference as that owl was just as harmless, defensive-less, and had the same rights to be moved peacefully without harm as a human child would have. To think otherwise, is simply inhumane.

One thing is it being wrong (which is arguable) and another completely different to take him to court for that, which is retarded.

And yes, it is different. Would you say the same for a fly?
