Sure you don't okay got you. ;)  To be honest, I hardly ever do myself. Usually only with a friend and occassionally with the GF. I am just a long time legalization advocate that knows a lot on the subject. Knowledge is power as they say.

I'm a legalization advocate as well as a longtime NORML member.  I cant wait for 'MURICA to stop wasting $$$$ and mexicans lives over our drug wants, it's horrible man.  They need to just get over their problem with weed and legalize it already.

Nice, What state do you live in? I know Oregon, California, Montana and Nevada could go legal soon too. I might make more threads on it if more states try it as it is good to spread real knowledge.

You cant forget the lobbying by the cotton industry.  they played a big part in it aswell.

I find it hard to 100% buy all the alleged benefits of hemp. If it's better than wood(trees) than why do countries in which hemp is legal still favour wood? You can still export hemp products to the US and I'm assuming EU so that isn't the issue.

Do some research, don't take what anyone tells you at 100% face value. Maybe you'll come to the same conclusions as me, maybe you won't.

I think the main reason hemp use isn't wide spread is because of the industries I named earlier and the stigmas associated with it. Even if hemp is legal in another country doesn't mean they will immediately switch any and every industry they can with hemp based versions. There are a lot of factors that would go into this change. There's the immediate economic impact they have to think of, even if the long term would be better with hemp. They also have to think of exports to other countries especially the US. If the US isn't importing hemp products heavily, then those countries where its legal won't bother converting. Its all about the money, not the environment. During world war II the US gov't made hemp legal and urged people to use it to help the war effort. Then after the war they made it illegal again. Kind of wierd isn't it?

So my sick step-mom got her medical marijuana license for a rare bone and joint desease that causes her chronic pain and other chronic diseases like glacoma which marijuana treats. It took years of suffering for her to  get over the stigma the drug creates to actually get the license to get relief. It turned out the owner of the shop near her had the same disease so she actually has a person to share with now. I am glad she has relief for her suffering now too.

I don't "toke" pot cigarettes. Sliced apples do the trick for me!

I almost did a puff of marijuanas one time, but a good friend stopped me and we played a fun word based board game instead!! Was a grand time.

You're so right!! Good to see a well educated individual I can see eye to eye with. One hit of that mary jane and you lose your brain...one puff of pot and you'll be distraught!
