This is easily avoidable, weed can actually be beneficial to your brain in numerous ways according to the article and its links, and there are studies that find no link at all: http://www.democraticunderground.com/11703

I don't care for a debate but I found this sweet picture and needed somewhere to post it.

No, it really shouldn't. And Marijuana smoking is nowhere near as damaging to your lungs as legal tobacco smoking.

It's still damaging, though. Don't try to dodge out of that.

I'm not! My entire post acknowledges that it's damaging to some degree.

Ok, so maybe over a decade or so my lung capacity will reduce a little bit, i'll be slightly more susceptible to coughing, and my voice will get huskier... seems like a great trade-off for thousands of awesome experiences.

VGKing you talk about long term damage but who on this site remembered that d21 drove an explorer from an old ass thread?

Lol, thankfully, JoelCool is not here AndresPetMonkey to infect the forums with his weird ideas anymore. Also, NinPie lives in Florida where he is brainwashed by some of the strictest Marijuana laws in the States. Lucky guys like JoetheBro and me live in Colorado with the least strict laws in the world.

Marijuana is a drug. All drugs are bad. Short-term you might not notice any side effects but when you are smoking it for a long time it will have a negative effect on your health, at least from the smoke alone. Smoking is bad for your lungs. You can't deny that. That alone should be enough reason to not legalize it.

There is research out there that marijuana use leads to psyhological problems. Of course determining if there were already psyhological problems to begin with is hard to prove so smoking could have just worsened any existing conditions.

The problem with weed is how it is promoted as being "cool" by rappers. Kids think its cool to smoke weed and use it as a way to "fit in" with the other cool kids. This is a major issue that isn't going to go away anytime soon. Legalizing marijuana will only make kids have easier access to this drug.

So you are saying we should ban tobacco as well then, that's so crazy
