Forums - Gaming - Do you keep games in a collection ie. A LOT OF THEM, or trade/aquire/trade

I have several hundred games, ~900 DVDs, ~3000 CDs/LPs, ~600 comic books.

At the moment I still keep them all, but I plan to give and/or throw away about 800 of my DVDs (I never sell anything). I'm not really interested anymore in movies on physical media and will keep only the movies on DVD which are rarely on TV these days, e.g. my Marx Brothers collection.

I will do the same with my games collection in a few years and just get rid of most if not all of them, because I'm sure in a not so distant future all games - old and new ones - will be available per (legal) download.

I will always keep my LPs and comic books, even though some of them are more than 20 years old and meanwhile smell a bit strange.

well college is straining my money so i have to sell sometimes to get a new game but i still have around 50 games left. the only games i know i wont sell are my tales games xenosaga series and okami anything else lol yea.

I take the "seal" of the box very carefully finish the game and if I really really like it I keep it. If I think I played enough then I put the seal again and sell the game as new and get my money back (and use the money to buy more games)

I keep all my games, It had never been a problem because I only bought very few games (limited budget), but since this generation is becoming a space problem and my collection is not as big as some of yours, take a look at it...

That's without a few of my last adquisitions or my DS games (but those are less). But I don't have the hearth or the necesity to sell any of my games.

I only trade-in games I felt were not worth the money I paid for. I still have my NES and N64 games.

i buy mt games from play asia clock them then sell them on trade me nz equivalent of ebay for more as games cost more in new zealand so i make money off playing games. would be guttered if things went all digital

I may not have tons and tons of games. I think in the region of 160 but I do take pride as a collector for what I can get. I really enjoy my collection. I however do not sell/trade my games.

One small shelf (enough for 18 games worth) of Wii/GC games, plus a carrying case full of GBA/GBC games, a binder full of DS games (i keep them in trading card sleeves), a drawer of N64 games, and a storage bin full of extra Wii and GC games. After i got like 50 cents for Pokemon Stadium at one point, i resolved to never again resell old games. I'll collect 'till i run out of space, even the games that are completely redundant (like owning all three Metroid Prime games *plus* Metroid Prime Trilogy)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I live off of gamefly and sell all my new bought games on eBay. I only own a ps3 and I only actually own Uncharted 2 and Killzone 3. I play the games on other systems at my buds house or i borrow thier systems. I don't i have a need to keep a collection. I know i will never play old games again. And if i do want to, its not worth keeping it around and selling it at way less than i bought it for.

will you be doing the same with infamous 2?

Nope, infamous 2 will be my first even special edition that i buy.

I never sell any of my games. I don't buy a lot of games because of the few money that I have and also I like to play the games that I buy a lot. I find my money wasted if I just play a game once for about 6 hours and give it up because there are 50 more to play. Of course if I don't like a game I don't force myself to play again :).

Also when you play a game again or just take your time to finish  and explore it, you can spot a lot of small details that you may like and appreciate the game more.

I would like to get rid of some games that I hate or dislike a LOT, but its not worth selling for just a few euros.

It would be better giving them to a friend who might like them, or just leave them so my collection just gets bigger!
