Well if nintendo decided to release it in Australia it would of made at least one more sale.
I've only bought 1 Wii game since July last year... Donkey Kong Country Returns. That's very upsetting.

| midorigreen said: Oniyide how much exactly did you really think that this game would sell because for me as long as it breaks even for treasure and nintendo I would call that a success for a nitch game like this. Much like Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom or Muramasa which both have only made around 430K, yet have been labeled success by capcom and vanillaware respectively because they've managed to turn a profit. To me your the one constantly spoutting gloom and doom for nintendo by starting these threads that lable every produce that doesn't meet your own lofty standards as a flop. |
He claimed TvC sold abysmally, based on the claim that other Capcom Vs games on this site are undertracked... but then acts as though the unshown numbers are somehow big enough to make TvC look puny. We'd have to undertrack them by a million or more for that to be the case.
As for this game, I say the price really hurt it. I would have gotten it, if the price had been something like $40 or $30.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
@midorigreen let me stop you right there, you must have not read my whole post, you should do that. I dont buy this niche thing either. RE DSC did 770,000, umbrella did 1.5 mil, HOD overkill did 750,000 freaking HOD 2&3 did what 2 mil??? 2 freaking mil for damn port of two games that ran on Dreamcast like hardware??? and this game only did 250,000 those are crappy sales even for this "niche" genre. Do you work for Ninty?? I sure dont since no one has mentioned the game since release and its like it was never even made I could only assume that there was no profit made and the price dropped damn quickly for a Ninty game. Lofty expectations I expected to do at least 2/3s of what those other games i already mentioned.
I like how you said this was gloom and doom thread. I dont stealth troll, if i think something sucks i say it, i know because ive been banned for it. I bought this game and I want it to get the recognition I think it deserves, good games with care poured into them should have at least that. and FYI i also made a Just Cause 2 thread so its not just about Ninty
@Myak 4 damn that is upsetting!!!
@lordtheknight I still stand by that, Cvs.S2 did 300,000 in Japan on PS2 alone??? Do you honestly think that that game did not sell at least as well in the other territories??? Even if it did half that in US and another half in Others the game would still have sold better than TvsC, you know what i cant wait for the Mvs.C3 #s to come in cause when it crushers Tvs.C i would like to see what excuses people come up with then. Cause that whole "niche" thing will fall apart
OT the game is dirt cheap right now brand new like $25 bucks, so what are you waiting for???
its not even that much, on Amazon its 18 bucks, people really have no excuse right now, while im at it. Muramasa is 13, NMH2 is 16.44 these are all new prices BTW

It's like $20 now. Go get it! <3
As for the OP, it's a Treasure game, they basically NEVER put up big numbers. I think their best seller ever is still Mischief Makers on N64 (which passed at least 500k iirc).
This game would struggle to sell on any console. Unless you have beefy trash talking army guys, killing aliens or terrorists...shooters don't generally sell well.
Most on rail shooters on consoles don't sell well, there were better games out at the time, not much marketing, and not really that high in quality.

... Have you ever seen Sin and Punishment gameplay?
I'd guess not based on the games you are comparing it to... it's like the difference between an RPG and a SRPG, or a FPS and a TPS.
Before judging a game, you should probably know what the game is.... I mean, you say you bought it... and yet you can't tell the difference?

@jarrod are people buying habits depending on what the dev team is, I dont care what #s a dev team does if they have a good track record of quality they'll get my business, but thats just me though
@Disolitude are you talking rail shooters or FPSs, cause FPSs sell and the rail shooters on WIi generally sell much better than this game did. "This game would struggle to sell on any console." Please dont try to turn this into a "Wii cant sell core games thing" All I want to know is why people who own a WII (hardcore, casuals, mulitplaters, whatever) did not give this game a chance, even less so than the games I mentioned
