TODAY I had lunch with a close friend and his software at iPhone market sold less than  30 times BUT is being played for more than 600 people, LOL;;; t0o sad, they are closing down that business model. SAD.

Not a sheep, but a business man, release a developer KIT like MS is doing isn´t release something for hackers, you release something to people develop new things over a new platform, that will generate new business... if you hack Office 2010 and pirate it, is OTHER THING and Microsoft will cease the use of the software.

Geohot like to be a hacker hero, but all he did since he got iPhone oppened, pushed all piracy around iPhone, he isn´t naive at the point to say at his website: "I hate piracy, I want to defeat security systems"... so what? Why he need to send the hack to all piracy?

Try earn money from a software you took two years developing and then watch out your software sell less then 80 ppl and get online statistics about it... and you realize more the 800 are playing it., and it´s not only that, you quit that industry for not receiving money to keep going...  I am Sheep you... you...

And your analogy makes no sense.  You are perfectly free to hack the hell out of Office 2010.  But you mention hack "and pirate".  The pirating part is obviously illegal.

If Geohot hacked the PS3 and then proceeded to distrubute Sony's software code that would be illegal, but the act of hacking it and distributing his own code is not illegal. If someone turns around and used that code to pirate software that person is doing something illegal but Geohot cannot be held accountable for the actions of others.

I understand ethics quite well thank you.  Those who choose to steal software are being unethical and if Apple, Sony or any other developers want to go after pirates I fully support them. 

You are trying to stick a square peg into a round hole and somehow in your mind you have convinced yourself that this is right, well it isn't.  Apple lost their jailbreak case last year and Sony is going to lose this case due to the simple fact that again, hacking is not illegal, nor will it ever be.

Call them hackers, or independent developers, call them whatever you wish but it amounts to the same thing.  MS released software to allow private individuals to use the kinect in ways different than its originally intended purpose, Geohot's software provides the same service for iphone and PS3 users.
