Like the title says. It's my birthday today and so I will be recieving some money to go towards either a Nintendo 3DS when it's released or a PS3. So what do you think? I'm torn between the two.

I've always wanted a PS3 since release however I went to see the 3DS at a games convention and it really impressed me!

PS3 - wait 'till 3DS builds up a big library. With the PS3, you already have it, and with all the various greatest hits, you have it cheaply.

It depends on your gaming habit.

If you mostly play at home on consoles, then, PS3 would make your money worth.

If you spend most of the time on portables, then 3DS.

Just don't get trapped into the must-have-brand-new-things-everybody-wants and only found out you hardly ever use it to make it worth.

PS3- you can buy tons of great games very cheaply.

It's fairly balanced, I played Monster Hunter on the PSP religiously, but I also play alot of home console games, I really have no preference between home consoles and handhelds.

I'm also quite a fan of Nintendos work.

I did think that, but I have an Xbox 360 where you can get alot of the games that are on PS3 for that. That's what's tearing me from getting a PS3 or a 3DS. I've actually already used a 3DS and they are fantastic, I've played Resident Evil, Ocarina of Time, Ridge Racer and I saw a bit of Kid Icarus and am really looking forward to their release.

However I am quite a fan of RPG games and PS3's I've heard are good for them.

I would wait until the 3DS comes out and what people say about it. because i dont think you'll be able to get a core gaming experience on it (imo) but the key thing about is the 3D. which you might not even use that much. the thing is i much prefer playing games on my console, because i can use my 32" HD tv, but the 3DS does look good.

but if i didnt already have a PS3 i would get that over the 3DS

Oh and by the way...

I'm most disappointed, no-ones going to wish me a happy birthday haha :P It's my eighteenth! I can finally play 18 games, legally!

Oh yeah, that's another thing, I don't have a HDTV to experience to PS3 to it's full potential.

If you have no choice between the 2, then 3DS would make sense since you already own an Xbox360. They pretty much have the same games except first/second party games.

Based on your posts, you own a PSP and not a DS. So, 3DS would give you a chance to play all those titles you've missed. Even 3DS is knocking on the door, I still have problem catching up on the DS library.

Remember that you can play all DS games on the 3DS.
