Forums - Sony - DualShock 4

With PlayStation Move/Nav, the Xperia Play, and NGP. I think Sony may attempt a bigger shake up with the DualShock 4 than we saw with the DualShock 3.

Maybe we will see a similar track pad put on the back of the DS4. Or slightly twistable handles. Built in microphone. Or a rear facing camera.

Whatever happens, the small changes and improvements over every iteration won't work for the PS4. At least one major addition must happen.

Maybe Move/Nav will be the way they go next time.

What do you all think?

Adding a track pad and a micrphone will increase the cost a lot. I don't think most people wil pay nearly 100 bucks for a controller.

I just want sixaxis again. Thats right, sixaxis. How else am i going to toss my grenades in uncharted 4?

LOL it would be cool but i dont think soo im afraidd but anythings possible

.

Nothing wrong with the original design. If anything, bring on the boomerang!

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

i know, though its not mentioned much sixaxis helps a lot in uncharted. one of the only games that really takes advantage of this. in uncharted it really helps the gameplay.

for example when climbing you may be on a ledge with a ledge behind you and below you, and if you press down on the stick and jump the game doesnt know if you want to go back or down so it can mess up, but with sixaxis, you tilt the controller to jump back, and press down to jump down.

also with grenade tosses it helps a lot too, because when you aim the grenade with the stick, the camera goes up with it, so when you aim far and up, you cant see right in front of you, only up at the sky, but with sixaxis, you can use the stick to aim, but then use sixaxis to fine tune your aim, and still be able to see your far off target, without the camera looking way up

R4 and L4 buttons could be placed where you're middle finger rests (or ring finger).

Do we really need more buttons? we already have 17.

I microphone wouldn't actually be that bad of an idea, it'd help connect the community together better, not to mention would still be pretty cheap, a camera may be pushing it though.

track pad is possible to be added to an controller.

But adding an microphone to every new controller at no extra cost would be vital in connecting the community easier

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Yea, I think a mic is really the only thing that is neccessary or truly wanted in terms of new additions.  As far as small alterations go, I think the L2 & R2 need to be concave next time.  And don't make it like a thin trigger. I mean the same width, just concave so your finger fits in their better and has a smaller chance of slipping.  Other than that, Sony has designed an awesome controller.
